The clash,\u200b partially captured \u2063on video, involved court officers intervening\u2063 to separate the two factions. This incident revolved\u2063 around \u2062the arraignment of Ryan Sweatt, facing charges in the fatal case linked to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/road-rage-incident-could-undermine-radical-prosecutors-promotion-to-u-s-attorney\/\" title=\"Road Rage Incident Could Undermine Radical Prosecutor\u2019s Promotion to U.S. Attorney\">road rage<\/a> \u2064incident. A tense showdown \u2064unfolded on Tuesday \u200dat the courthouse between the \u200bfamilies\u200d of a murder suspect \u2064and the alleged victim, captured partly on video. Upper III<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 1, 2024 at 5:50am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Families of a murder suspect and his alleged victim came to blows after a court hearing Tuesday, with part of the altercation caught on video.<\/p>\n<p>Court officers stepped in to separate members of the families of Ryan Sweatt, who was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of murder, and 26-year-old Destini Decoff, who was killed in what prosecutors have labeled a case of road rage that occurred on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>Sweatt, 36, had pleaded not guilty to charges of \u201cassault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, operating to endanger and a marked lanes violation,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/boston\/news\/hopkinton-ma-road-rage-murder-ryan-sweatt-destini-decoff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WBZ-TV<\/a> reported, but now faces a murder charge after Decoff succumbed to her injuries while on life support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that the woman he is accused of hitting has died, emotions have become a tidal wave,\u201d WBZ reporter Christina Hager said.<\/p>\n<p>You can see WBZ\u2019s report on the arraignment below.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Families of Hopkinton road rage suspect, victim clash in court\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kOwK1e1V9fc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Sweatt claims that Decoff and four men \u201callegedly jumped out of their vehicle, surrounded him and threatened him\u201d after an incident that occurred on Route 85 in Hopkinton, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Sweatt reportedly told a police officer, \u201cThey\u2019re trying to kill me,\u201d but investigators say Sweatt escaped the threatening situation, made two U-turns, ran Decoff over and then fled the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecuting attorney said at the hearing that Decoff had flown 50 to 75 feet as a result of the impact.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Have you ever been a victim of road rage?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prosecutors-offer-plea-deal-to-nyc-lawyers-who-firebombed-police-vehicle\/\" title=\"Prosecutors Offer Plea Deal to NYC Lawyers Who Firebombed Police Vehicle\">witness told<\/a> the outlet that Sweatt hit Decoff so hard with his car that he \u201cclothes flew off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Middlesex District Attorney\u2019s Office, witnesses agreed that Sweatt came back to the scene before running Decoff down, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/surveillance-footage-shows-incredibly-disturbing-attempt-kidnap-4-year-old-walmart-sheriff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/if-you-can-hear-this-message-evacuate-now-audio-warning-broadcast-ahead-explosion-in-nashville-video\/\" title=\"\u201cIf You Can Hear This Message, Evacuate Now\u201d \u2013 Audio Warning Broadcast Ahead Explosion in Nashville (VIDEO)\">surveillance video<\/a><\/a> from a nearby pub appeared to corroborate that version of events, not Sweatt\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Police did say, however, that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/good-samaritan-tries-break-subway-fight-ends-knife-slash-entire-face\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">knife<\/a> was recovered at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe murdered my niece,\u201d her aunt, Dawn Anderson, told WBZ. \u201cDestini will get her justice somehow, some way, but that family is sick, sick, sick, sick.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anderson was bleeding for a neck wound that she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boston25news.com\/news\/local\/fight-inside-mass-courthouse-man-arraigned-murder-charge-womans-apparent-road-rage-death\/CAJRJ63ZVBGZJLD3ETFJQHDFQU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WFXT<\/a> she received when she was attacked by Sweatt\u2019s girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was beautiful inside and out she would do anything for anyone,\u201d her mother, Tracy Decoff, told WFXT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was murder and it was intentional,\u201d she added. \u201cIf Massachusetts had the death penalty that\u2019s what I would want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/claims-say-oj-simpson-loved-ones-last-moments-attorney-tells-different-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attorney<\/a> for Sweatt, however, denied that his client had tried to hurt anyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a road rage case as reported by the media,\u201d the defense attorney said in a statement cited by WFXT. \u201cThis was an accident that resulted when Ryan tried to get away from the group of people who came out of their car to attack him. He did not see the person who was struck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe stopped his car after the impacted [sic] and cooperated with the police. There is a lot more to what was reported in the news and as the facts come to light, I am confident it will become obvious this was a just a tragic accident. Ryan is a peaceful person who has always maintained a clean record with a long history of gainful employment. He was going home from work when the accident happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There were no immediate reports of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mom-chiefs-fan-froze-friends-backyard-slams-investigation-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charges<\/a> to be filed against any of the family members involved in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Sweatt has been held without bail since the April 4 incident.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
