White\u2063 House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre expressed opposition, citing \u200djurisdictional doubts. The U.S. National Security\u200c Council coordinator, John\u200d Kirby, echoed this sentiment. There are speculations\u200c of potential arrest warrants for Israeli officials, \u2062sparking \u200bconcerns about the ICC&#8217;s reach and implications.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Biden administration would not support any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/2982544\/israeli-leaders-believed-to-be-targets-of-icc-arrest-warrants-over-war-in-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court<\/a> for Israeli officials pertaining to the war against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hamas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hamas<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gaza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Gaza\">Gaza<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do not support it,\u201d White House press secretary\u00a0Karine Jean-Pierre\u00a0said at Monday\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-extends-southern-california-stay-at-home-order-for-at-least-another-three-weeks\/\" title=\"Newsom Extends Southern California Stay-at-Home Order For at Least Another Three Weeks\">press briefing<\/a>, referring to the ICC\u2019s investigation. \u201cWe don\u2019t believe they have the jurisdiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>U.S. National Security Council coordinator John Kirby reiterated on Tuesday, \u201cWe don\u2019t believe the ICC has any jurisdiction here. We don\u2019t support this investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There have been varying reports this week that the ICC could unveil arrest warrants for senior Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/benjamin-netanyahu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a>, in the near future, though the court has not confirmed those reports. <\/p>\n<p>The ICC is investigating both Hamas\u2019s Oct. 7 terrorist attack that left roughly 1,200 people dead, with another roughly 250 people taken hostage, and Israel\u2019s military response that has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians. The death toll in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gaza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Gaza<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chaos-in-khartoum-dozens-killed-in-airstrikes-as-civil-war-looms-in-sudan\/\" title=\"Chaos In Khartoum: Dozens Killed In Airstrikes As Civil War Looms In Sudan\">including combatants<\/a> and civilians, exceeds 34,000 people, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>Israel is not a member of the court, and neither is the United States, though any arrest warrants would limit their travel abroad and could serve as validation to Israel\u2019s critics\u2019 concerns.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Netanyahu said any decision by the ICC would not affect Israel\u2019s actions but could set a \u201cdangerous precedent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder my leadership, Israel will never accept any attempt by the International Criminal Court in the Hague to undermine its basic right to defend itself,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/netanyahu-says-icc-decisions-will-not-affect-israels-actions-set-dangerous-2024-04-26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in a Telegram post. \u201cWhile decisions made by the court in the Hague will not affect Israel\u2019s actions, they will set a dangerous precedent that threatens soldiers and public figures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several U.S. lawmakers have reacted to the reports of possible ICC indictments, many of whom were critical.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/mike-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Mike Johnson\">Mike Johnson<\/a> (R-LA) called the reports \u201cdisgraceful,\u201d \u201cbaseless,\u201d and \u201cillegitimate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuch a lawless action by the ICC would directly undermine U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congressional-war-vets-warn-biden-against-shuttering-gitmo\/\" title=\"Congressional War Vets Warn Biden Against Shuttering Gitmo\">national security interests<\/a>,\u201d he said. \u201cIf unchallenged by the\u00a0Biden\u00a0administration, the ICC could create and assume unprecedented power to issue arrest warrants against American political leaders, American diplomats, and American military personnel, thereby endangering our country\u2019s sovereign authority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson continued: \u201cThe Biden administration must immediately and unequivocally demand that the ICC stand down, and the U.S. should use every available tool to prevent such an abomination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have largely echoed Johnson\u2019s sentiment, in line with the party\u2019s support for Israel throughout the war.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) said warrants would be \u201ca big mistake\u201d that are \u201cwholly unjustified and would set a dangerous precedent.\u201d A member of his committee, Rep.
