Trump refrained from disclosing his stance on Florida&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/election-day-ohio-votes-on-abortion-kentucky-republicans-look-to-flip-governorship\/\" title=\"Ohio and Kentucky: Election Day Decisions on Abortion and Governorship\">abortion \u200breferendum<\/a>, critiquing \u200dthe \u2063six-week\u200c abortion limitation and its \u2062impact on Governor Ron DeSantis.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Whether women are prosecuted for aborting their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/48-senators-vow-to-oppose-any-legislation-that-funds-abortion\/\" title=\"48 Senators Vow To Oppose Any Legislation That Funds Abortion\">unborn children<\/a> should be left up to the states, and it\u2019s \u201ctotally irrelevant\u201d if a president is \u201ccomfortable\u201d with such laws, according to former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The presumptive Republican presidential nominee was interviewed by <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6972022\/donald-trump-transcript-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Time Magazine<\/a> for a feature article published Tuesday morning that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-says-he-wont-seek-retribution-against-biden-if-he-wins-second-term-i-have-too-much-respect-for-the-office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">focuses<\/a> on what Trump\u2019s agenda would be if he wins a second term in the White House. During a portion of the interview, the Time reporter focused on abortion, an issue that could have major implications in the upcoming election.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about his specific position on prosecuting women who abort their unborn children, Trump told Time that those questions should be reserved for each state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe states are going to say. It\u2019s irrelevant whether I\u2019m comfortable or not. It\u2019s totally irrelevant, because the states are going to make those decisions,\u201d said Trump. \u201cAnd by the way, Texas is going to be different than Ohio. And Ohio is going to be different than Michigan. I see what\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-vice-president-mike-pence-joins-the-heritage-foundation\/\" title=\"Former Vice President Mike Pence Joins The Heritage Foundation\">president added<\/a> that the Supreme Court overturning <em>Roe v. Wade <\/em>was a huge victory because it \u201cwas all about bringing it back to the states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery legal scholar, Democrat, Republican, and other wanted that issue back at the states. You know, <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> was always considered very bad law,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was then asked about his previous criticism of Florida\u2019s six-week abortion limitation when he <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-desantis-abortion-ban-republican-primary-5bdbba55f9c2f328d49b5fbe9727677e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> the law is \u201ca terrible mistake\u201d and was pressed on how he would vote as a resident of Florida on the abortion referendum that will be on the state\u2019s ballot in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I said I thought six weeks is too severe. You know, I\u2019ve said that previously. I think it was a semi-controversial statement when I made it, and it\u2019s become less and less controversial with time,\u201d Trump said, adding that he believes Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis \u201cwas hurt very badly\u201d politically when he signed the six-week limitations into law.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said he would not reveal how he would vote on the abortion referendum, which, if passed, would make Florida another extreme pro-abortion state, allowing abortion up until viability, which is roughly between 20-25 weeks.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1713635892817000&#038;usg=AOvVaw3lXMk_jhNQC8Fngje8e8XV\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-releases-long-awaited-abortion-position-says-policies-should-be-left-to-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released a statement<\/a> on his abortion stance, where he said that \u201cstates will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state.\u201d Days later, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a 160-year-old abortion law that protected unborn babies from nearly all abortions, and Trump was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-calls-on-arizona-governor-legislature-to-act-immediately-on-abortion-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">critical<\/a> of the decision allowing the 1864 law to go into effect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Supreme Court in Arizona went too far on their Abortion Ruling, enacting and approving an inappropriate Law from 1864. So now the Governor and the Arizona Legislature must use HEART, COMMON SENSE, and ACT IMMEDIATELY, to remedy what has happened,\u201d Trump wrote. \u201cRemember, it is now up to the States and the Good Will of those that represent THE PEOPLE. We must ideally have the three Exceptions for Rape, Incest, and Life of the Mother. This is important! Arizona Legislature, please act as fast as possible!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GOP-controlled Arizona House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/arizona-house-passes-bill-to-repeal-1864-abortion-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed<\/a> a bill last week by a four-vote margin to repeal the abortion law as three Republicans joined all Democrats in support of the legislation.
