Along \u200cwith \u200cseven other UN members, the U.S. permits abortion on demand, positioning it uniquely in the global landscape\u2064 of abortion laws.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>EXCLUSIVE \u2014<\/strong> The United States is one of the most permissive countries in the world for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>abortion<\/a>, among only a small worldwide minority of countries that impose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/healthcare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>zero gestational limits<\/a> on the procedure, according to a new report.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/gestational-limits-on-abortion-in-the-united-states-compared-to-international-norms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>report<\/a> from the Charlotte Lozier Institute, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-15-minimum-wage-would-raise-childcare-costs-hurt-families-heritage-foundation\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s  Minimum Wage Would Raise Childcare Costs, Hurt Families: Heritage Foundation\">research organization<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pro-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>supports bringing unborn babies to term<\/a>, found that out of the 193 United Nations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-u-n-ambassador-linda-thomas-greenfield-faces-backlash-for-attacking-u-s-ccp-propaganda\/\" title=\"Biden U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield Faces Backlash For Attacking U.S.: \u2018CCP Propaganda\u2019\">member countries<\/a>, America is one of eight that allows abortion \u201con demand without any gestational limits\u201d at a federal level. The U.S. is joined by Australia, Canada, China, Guinea-Bissau, Mexico, South Korea, and Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur report makes one thing clear: the United States is a global outlier when it comes to abortion,\u201d report authors Mary Harned and Mia Steupert told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. \u201cWith no federal gestational limit on abortion and abortion on demand past 15 weeks in 29 states, U.S. abortion law is far more permissive than that of most countries in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the 10 years since our\u00a0previous analysis, we remain in the company of brutal communist countries like China who have no limits, even for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/one-year-after-dobbs-americans-have-more-common-ground-on-protecting-the-unborn\/\" title=\"One year post-Dobbs, Americans unite to safeguard the unborn.\">painful late-term abortions<\/a>,\u201d Harned, an associate scholar at CLI, and Steupert, a CLI research associate, continued. \u201cThe U.S. should be an international leader when it comes to human rights and dignity of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report also found the U.S. is one of only 15 countries in the U.N. that allows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gift-to-republicans-schumer-allows-vote-on-dead-on-arrival-abortion-bill\/\" title=\"\u2018Gift to Republicans\u2019: Schumer Allows Vote on Dead on Arrival Abortion Bill\">abortion past 15 weeks<\/a> of gestation and that there were only four of the 50 European member countries allow abortion beyond this point: France, Sweden, Iceland, and the Netherlands. However, none of those European countries allow abortion up until the moment of birth as the U.S. does.<\/p>\n<p>While some states have moved in the direction of restricting the procedure following the 2022 Supreme Court ruling in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em> that there is no constitutional right to abortion, many have expanded the length of time an abortion-seeker can obtain the procedure, with several states and the District of Columbia having zero limitations.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-nine states and Washington, D.C., allow abortion past 12 weeks, which only 12 U.N. member countries also allow. In at least 19 states, the report says, abortion pill prescribers are shielded from legal repercussions even if they ship the drugs to states with restrictions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the federal government does not regulate abortion, the Biden administration has been adamant about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2571517\/leaked-veterans-affairs-videos-show-push-for-servicewomen-to-get-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>making sure the procedure is accessible<\/a> at government-run health facilities run through the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2593318\/abortion-provider-raked-in-nearly-2-billion-from-taxpayer-money-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Billions in federal and state taxpayer dollars<\/a> also have gone to major abortion providers like Planned Parenthood, as the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe United States should seek to move away from the ultra-permissive fringe policies of the 14 other countries that permit abortion past 15 weeks and aim to protect life at even earlier gestational limits, as 178 other U.N. member countries do \u2014 ranging from complete protection of the unborn to protecting the unborn after 15 weeks of gestation,\u201d the report concludes.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an exclusive report, the United States stands out as one of the few countries globally with no gestational limits on abortion, as per the Charlotte Lozier Institute.
