The regulations, \u2062announced by the Education Department, aim\u2064 to prevent schools from imposing\u2062 blanket bans on transgender males in girls&#8217; \u2062sports.\u200b Attorney General Ken Paxton \u200bcriticizes\u2062 the move as an attempt to align with &#8220;radical gender ideology.&#8221; The lawsuit \u200dis supported by America First \u2063Legal and raises concerns about the impact on educational institutions and female students. The rules \u200dapply to federally \u200bfunded public \u2064K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, sparking\u2064 criticism from parental rights advocates \u200cand\u2064 transgender activists. These regulations could conflict with state laws regarding transgender \u2064student participation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Texas filed a lawsuit Monday over the Biden administration\u2019s new Title IX rules forcing public schools to allow trans-identifying males to compete in women\u2019s sports and use women\u2019s bathrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Education Department unveiled new Title IX regulations to prohibit schools from enforcing blanket bans on trans-identifying males in girls\u2019 sports set to take effect in August.<\/p>\n<p>Title IX is the 1972 federal civil rights law prohibiting sex-based discrimination at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/florida-passes-anti-groomer-law-mischaracterized-as-dont-say-gay-bill-by-liberal-liars\/\" title=\"Florida Passes Anti-Groomer Law Mischaracterized as \u201cDon\u2019t Say Gay\u201d Bill by Liberal Liars\">schools receiving federal funding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit alleging the administration is attempting to twist the federal law\u2019s meaning to align with \u201cradical gender ideology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTexas will not allow Joe Biden to rewrite Title IX at whim, destroying legal protections for women in furtherance of his radical obsession with gender ideology,\u201d Paxton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-ken-paxton-sues-biden-administration-unlawfully-using-title-ix-mandate-radical#:~:text=%E2%80%9CTexas%20will%20not%20allow%20Joe,undemocratic%2C%20and%20divorced%20from%20reality.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in a statement Monday. \u201cThis attempt to subvert federal law is plainly illegal, undemocratic, and divorced from reality. Texas will always take the lead to oppose Biden\u2019s extremist, destructive policies that put women at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>America First Legal <a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/america-first-legal-partners-with-state-of-texas-and-attorney-general-ken-paxton-sues-biden-administration-over-radical-new-title-ix-rules-that-mandate-radical-transgender-ideology-in-schools-and-thr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joined<\/a> Texas in filing the lawsuit and is serving as outside counsel for the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe changes would fundamentally transform the educational atmosphere of publicly funded educational institutions, forcing communities to capitulate to unscientific gender ideology and putting girls and women at risk in K-12 schools and on college campuses,\u201d the conservative legal group said.<\/p>\n<p>The new regulations will apply to all public K-12 schools, colleges, and universities that receive federal funding.<\/p>\n<p>Parental rights advocates have criticized the new regulations as too vague, saying they will discourage schools from enforcing any limits on males in girls\u2019 sports.<\/p>\n<p>Transgender activists, meanwhile, have reacted with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/education\/2023\/04\/06\/trans-athletes-school-sports-title-ix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concern<\/a> that the new policy gives too much leeway to schools that are looking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cycling-organization-bans-trans-identifying-men-from-womens-bike-races\/\" title=\"Cycling group prohibits transgender men from participating in women's races.\">ban trans-identifying males<\/a> from athletically competing with girls.<\/p>\n<p>The updated rules <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/title-ix-transgender-bathroom-bans-645b5564ce227a9efe2c05f883609ae8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">may also conflict<\/a> with laws in several states restricting trans-identifying students from playing on girls\u2019 teams or using girls\u2019 facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.gov\/news\/press-releases\/fact-sheet-us-department-educations-proposed-change-its-title-ix-regulations-students-eligibility-athletic-teams\">new rules<\/a> state that schools that receive federal funding may not ban biological males in girls\u2019 sports wholesale, but they may exclude them on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSex-related criteria\u201d at schools that would limit or ban a trans-identified student from playing on the team of their preferred gender must meet two standards. First, the criteria must be related to an \u201cimportant educational objective,\u201d and second, the criteria must also \u201cminimize harms\u201d to the trans-identified student.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714129450076000&#038;usg=AOvVaw11MUL_oXewNl-yGfGqnuu8\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preventing sports-related injuries would be an example of an \u201cimportant educational objective,\u201d the department noted.<\/p>\n<p>High school girls have been injured playing with trans-identifying males.
