Besides the\u200b candidates, ballot initiatives, including abortion issues in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/internal-poll-shows-trump-up-in-5-pivotal-swing-states\/\" title=\"Internal Poll Shows Trump Up In 5 Pivotal Swing States\">pivotal swing states<\/a> like Arizona\u2064 and Nevada, will\u2062 be on the ballots. Notably, Florida will vote on recreational marijuana,\u200d and Nevada will consider removing \u200bslavery as a criminal punishment. In November, voters will participate \u2064in the elections to choose the 119th Congress\u2064 and decide the re-election\u2064 of either the 45th or 46th president. Alongside the candidates, ballot measures, such as abortion issues in critical\u200c swing states like Arizona and Nevada, will be up for vote. Particularly noteworthy are Florida&#8217;s\u2063 vote \u200con recreational marijuana and Nevada&#8217;s consideration to remove slavery as \u200ca criminal penalty.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Voters will go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"polls\">polls<\/a> in November to elect the 119th Congress and decide whether the 45th or 46th president deserves a second term, but there will be ballot initiatives in various states alongside the candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion is expected to be on the <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"ballot\">ballot<\/a> in several states, including the pivotal swing states of Arizona and Nevada, but many other issues will also be before voters to decide. Here are three ballot initiatives voters will decide the fate of in November.<\/p>\n<h2>Florida: Recreational marijuana<\/h2>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Sunshine State<\/a>, recreational marijuana will appear alongside a ballot initiative on abortion in a repeat of the 2023 election in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>The measure, championed by Smart and Safe Florida, was challenged by state Attorney General Ashley Moody, but the Florida Supreme Court approved the initiative to appear on the ballot earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to bringing our message of allowing adults to safely use cannabis for their own personal consumption to the voters of this state,\u201d Smart and Safe Florida said in a statement after the court decision.<\/p>\n<p>The measure must get a supermajority of 60% to pass in November.<\/p>\n<h2>Nevada: Removing slavery as punishment<\/h2>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Silver State<\/a>, voters will likely get to weigh in on abortion, along with another measure that has been placed on ballots across the country.<\/p>\n<p>After being approved by both chambers of the state legislature in 2023, voters will decide whether to amend the state constitution to disallow \u201cthe use of slavery and involuntary servitude as a criminal punishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Slavery and involuntary servitude are banned federally under the 13th Amendment, except as punishment for a crime. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/codify-roe-is-bidens-euphemism-for-democrats-atrocious-aim-unregulated-abortion-anywhere-anytime\/\" title=\"\u2018Codify Roe\u2019 Is Biden\u2019s Euphemism For Democrats\u2019 Atrocious Aim: Unregulated Abortion Anywhere, Anytime\">state constitution includes<\/a> a similar provision.<\/p>\n<p>Several states have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-trump-at-rigged-premiere-it-shouldnt-be-allowed-for-mark-zuckerberg-to-privately-finance-election-operations\/\" title=\"Exclusive \u2014 Trump at \u2018Rigged\u2019 Premiere: \u2018It Shouldn\u2019t Be Allowed\u2019 for Mark Zuckerberg to Privately Finance Election Operations\">passed measures banning<\/a> it as a punishment for a crime, including four states <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/618765\/four-states-approve-measures-to-prohibit-slavery-as-punishment-but-one-rejects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"during\">during<\/a> the 2022 election.<\/p>\n<h2>Connecticut: No excuse absentee voting<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/connecticut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Connecticut<\/a> voters will have the chance to enshrine no<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-house-passes-omnibus-election-reform-bill\/\" title=\"Georgia House Passes Omnibus Election Reform Bill\">-excuse absentee voting<\/a> for elections when they head to the polls in November.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic lawmakers in the state have pushed for the constitutional amendment to allow for more lenient absentee voting laws after the form of voting was popularized during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas celebrated the legislature passing a measure to put the measure on the ballot shortly after it was approved last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen voters are given the greatest access to their right to vote, our democracy is strongest.
