He urged the judge to lift the gag order, emphasizing his\u200c right to free speech.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/%20\"><span>Jack Davis<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   April 26, 2024 at 4:56pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>As an acrimonious battle rages over the gag order issued against former President Donald Trump in his current New York City trial, Trump emerged from court Thursday with happy talk about the day\u2019s events.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was facing a hearing on Thursday over allegations from prosecutors that he violated the gag order that bars him from commenting on witnesses and others connected with the trial in comments he has made in the past few days, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/politics\/live-news\/trump-hush-money-trial-04-26-24\/h_0e39fc45f72b0c168741189438f07c48\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump faces 34 counts of first<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-delivers-blistering-message-inside-nyc-courthouse-an-assault-on-america\/\" title=\"Trump issues strong statement inside New York City courthouse: 'A direct attack on America\">-degree falsifying business records<\/a>, which Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is prosecuting as felonies.<\/p>\n<p>Former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardori said that although the root of the case involves claims from porn star Stormy Daniels that she had an affair with Trump \u2014 a claim he has denied \u2014 the actual criminal allegations involve how money paid to Daniels was recorded on the books of the Trump Organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe crime actually has to do with all of this somewhat banal record-keeping stuff. This is a case where I think we\u2019re going to actually see quite a few somewhat dull witnesses producing things like documents, ledgers, invoices, things that just have to come into evidence to complete this case,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker said the magazine purchased the rights to many stories it did not plan to publish, not just the allegations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/not-a-joke-trump-will-be-convicted-in-hush-money-case-stormy-daniels-disgraced-ex-lawyer-says-from-behind-bars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniels<\/a> made about Trump, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/04\/25\/us-news\/trump-hush-money-nyc-trial-live-updates-photos-analysis-more\/#31822195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday was breathtaking in this room,\u201d Trump said after court ended. \u201cYou saw what went on. It was breathtaking \u2026 amazing testimony.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a trial that should have never happened, and this is a case that should have never been filed. And it was really an incredible day. Open your eyes. We can\u2019t let this continue to happen to our country,\u201d Trump said before pivoting to other issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-says-problem-biden-hates-palestinians-slams-handling-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> did not explain what was \u201camazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Are you voting for Trump?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On Friday, Trump offered no such rosy statements, the Post reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is all a Biden indictment,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s in order to try and win an election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump then turned to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nyc-construction-workers-union-members-go-wild-trump-makes-unexpected-visit-en-route-courthouse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">campaign issues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you know, the economy\u2019s falling apart. Now you see very little growth. It\u2019s going to get worse. Oil prices are going up. You have the college campuses all over closed down, the country\u2019s going to hell,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we sit here day after day after day, which is their plan. They think they might be able to eke out an election,\u201d but I doubt it, because the poll numbers are very good for us.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also sounded off Friday in a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/112338864756676324\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c45th President Donald J. Trump is again the Republican Nominee for President of the United States, and is currently dominating in the Polls. However, he is being inundated by the Media with questions because of this Rigged Biden Trial, which President Trump is not allowed to comment on, or answer, because of Judge Juan Merchan\u2019s UNPRECEDENTED AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL Gag Order,\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis Opponents have unlimited rights to question, but he has no right to respond. There has never been a situation like this in our Country\u2019s History, a Candidate that is not allowed to answer questions. Even Crooked Joe Biden is talking about the Sham Case, and others inspired by his Administration,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe request that Judge Merchan immediately LIFT THE GAG ORDER, so that President Trump is able to freely state his views, feelings, and policies. He is asking for his Constitutional Right to Free Speech.
