The\u200b company, Pinpoint Consulting, \u200blacked \u2063financial activity and\u2063 clients according \u200bto reports. The firm remains \u200binactive since 2017, raising questions \u200babout Slotkin&#8217;s portrayal as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-appeals-to-small-business-in-expanded-bidenomics-pitch\/\" title=\"Biden targets small businesses in expanded Bidenomics pitch.\">business \u2064owner<\/a> in her campaign. Michigan Democratic Senate\u2063 candidate Rep. Elissa Slotkin is under fire\u2063 for reportedly establishing a small business to enhance her image during the \u20622017 \u2064House campaign. Pinpoint \u200cConsulting, the company in question, reportedly had no financial transactions or clients. The firm has been dormant \u200csince 2017, casting doubt on Slotkin&#8217;s depiction as \u2062a business owner in her campaign.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>One Michigan Democrat running for Senate in the state has been accused of starting a small business to gain favor from voters before starting her House bid in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) started a business called Pinpoint Consulting in June 2017 and then, a month later, announced a run for a House seat using messaging portraying her as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cuomo-to-partially-reopen-indoor-dining-in-nyc-for-valentines-day-if-positivity-rates-hold\/\" title=\"Cuomo To Partially Reopen Indoor Dining In NYC For Valentine\u2019s Day, \u2018If Positivity Rates Hold\u2019\">small business owner<\/a>. However, her campaign did not confirm if the consulting business ever generated revenue or had clients. The firm has been inactive since her 2017 House run and has not filed an annual report since 2019. In 2020, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs labeled the company as \u201cNot in Good Standing.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI). (AP Photo\/Carlos Osorio)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cElissa Slotkin created a consulting business on paper so she could call herself a small business owner when she ran for Congress,\u201d National Republican Senatorial Committee spokeswoman Maggie Abboud said in a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. \u201cHowever, it does not appear that she ever actually had any clients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Slotkin\u2019s campaign has attempted to explain the company\u2019s existence as an in-between job, after her stint as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/progressive-lawyers-help-biden-administration-gut-devoss-title-ix-rules\/\" title=\"Progressive Lawyers Help Biden Administration Gut DeVos\u2019s Title IX Rules\">acting assistant secretary<\/a> of defense ended in 2017. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRep. Slotkin set up a consulting firm after leaving the Department of Defense, when she was considering a number of different job opportunities. She ultimately decided to run for Congress,\u201d a campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dem-senate-candidate-elissa-slotkins-small-consulting-business-never-active\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>statement<\/a> reads.<\/p>\n<p>The Michigan Democrat won her House bid by 2 percentage points over incumbent Republican Mike Bishop in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Cabel Roe, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dem-senate-candidate-elissa-slotkins-small-consulting-business-never-active\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>led<\/a> the Congressional Leadership Fund\u2019s efforts to support Bishop in the race, has denounced Slotkin\u2019s alleged political framing of her business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat she tried to do in 2018 was make herself look like a moderate Republican to Republican voters that did not like Donald Trump,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Roe explained the business \u201cwas a talking point that she relied on in 2018. Mike Rogers.
