Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota, a possible VP contender for former President Donald Trump, \u200crevealed unsettling tales in her \u2063book, &#8220;No Going Back: \u200cThe Truth on\u2064 What\u2019s \u2064Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.&#8221;\u200b She\u2063 detailed putting down her 14-month-old dog \u2062and a goat, showcasing her readiness to confront difficult choices, no matter how challenging or disagreeable they may be.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kristi-noem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Kristi Noem<\/a> (R-SD), a potential running mate for former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a>, described several gruesome tales in her new book, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/colonial-williamsburg-begins-reenactments-about-lgbt-history-in-the-colonies\/\" title=\"Colonial Williamsburg Begins \u2018Reenactments\u2019 About \u2018LGBT History In The Colonies\u2019\">included stories<\/a> of killing her dog and goat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2024\/apr\/26\/trump-kristi-noem-shot-dog-and-goat-book\">The book<\/a>, titled <em>No Going Back: The Truth on What\u2019s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward<\/em>, includes a story of how she put down her 14-month-old puppy, named Cricket, because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/burglary-suspect-shot-wounded-by-police-in-san-diego\/\" title=\"Police in San Diego shoot and injure burglary suspect.\">dog killed<\/a> a local family\u2019s chickens after a pheasant hunting trip and bit her when she tried to stop it. The story was supposed to show how Noem would do anything \u201cmessy and ugly\u201d when it comes to politics and otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>She described how the dog ruined the previous hunt by \u201cchasing all those birds and having the time of her life.\u201d Noem said she \u201chated that dog,\u201d and deemed it \u201cless than worthless\u201d for being unable to properly hunt.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>So she took her gun, led the dog to a gravel pit, and shot Cricket. Bizarrely, this led Noem to decide to also kill her goat, which she said stunk and was \u201cnasty and mean.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was not a pleasant job,\u201d she writes, \u201cbut it had to be done. And after it was over, I realized another unpleasant job needed to be done.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>She dragged the goat to the same gravel pit, but in the process of putting her goat down, she missed the shot as it jumped and needed to retrieve another shell to finish the task. Then, Noem \u201cput him down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unbeknownst to her, a construction crew had watched her kill both animals, but she said they went back to work quickly, and it was then that her daughter arrived at home and asked where Cricket was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKennedy looked around confused,\u201d Noem writes of her daughter, who asked: \u201cHey, where\u2019s Cricket?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Noem admitted if she \u201cwere a better politician I wouldn\u2019t tell the story here.\u201d But the story seemed to only add to the ammunition of her detractors.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Kristi Noem is trash.<\/p>\n<p>Decades with hunting- and bird-dogs, and the number I&#8217;ve killed because they were chicken-sharp or had too much prey drive is ZERO.
