He believes the temperature is deliberately kept low. Trump has complained about \u2063the cold previously but now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/putins-nuclear-bluff\/\" title=\"Putin\u2019s Nuclear Bluff\">publicly suggests<\/a> it&#8217;s intentional. He voiced his frustration, stating, \u2063&#8221;It&#8217;s very cold in there, on\u2062 purpose, I believe.&#8221; \u200cFormer President Donald Trump voiced his discontent with\u200b the chilly \u200catmosphere in the New York courthouse \u2064during his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-hush-money-witness-michael-cohen-grilled-for-perjury-judge\/\" title=\"Judge questions Michael Cohen about potential perjury regarding Trump hush money\">hush \u200cmoney trial<\/a>. He suspects the temperature is deliberately set low. While he had previously grumbled about \u2062the cold, \u200bTrump now openly implies it&#8217;s intentional, expressing his frustration by stating, &#8220;It&#8217;s very \u2063cold in there, \u200con purpose, I believe.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> made it known Friday as he headed into the \u201cfreezing\u201d courtroom for his hush money trial proceedings in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>New York<\/a> that he believes the temperature has been kept cold in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>courthouse<\/a> \u201con purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump has complained about the temperature in court before, but this is the first time he is shifting blame for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have another day in court in a freezing courthouse,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very cold in there, on purpose, I believe. They don\u2019t seem to be able to get the temperature up. It shouldn\u2019t be that complicated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<p data-video_id=\"jMGDc3ereWA\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"'It's very cold in there': Trump wishes Melania happy birthday from 'freezing' courthouse\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jMGDc3ereWA?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Trump wished Melania Trump a happy 54th birthday before complaining about the temperature in the courthouse and finished his remarks by repeating his claim that the trial was \u201crigged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judge Juan Merchan has commented on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-abbott-all-sources-of-power-in-texas-have-been-compromised\/\" title=\"Gov. Abbott: All sources of power in Texas have been compromised\">cold temperatures<\/a> in the courthouse, saying if the temperature were adjusted, it \u201cwould go up about 30 degrees,\u201d which he would not prefer.<\/p>\n<p>Merchan\u2019s remarks came despite Trump attorney Todd Blanche pleading with him to turn up the temperature in the courtroom last week. Blanche remarked that others in the room were feeling the cold as well.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s claim that the cold temperatures in the courtroom could be \u201con purpose\u201d didn\u2019t appear to be taking aim at anyone in particular, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/04\/18\/trump-hush-money-criminal-trial\/brrrrr-its-cold-in-here-00153157\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>judges<\/a> have been known to turn temperatures colder to keep people awake.<\/p>\n<p><em>New York Magazine\u2019s<\/em> Olivia Nuzzi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/trump\/trump-floats-conspiracy-theory-they-are-keeping-freezing-new-york-courthouse-cold-on-purpose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>remarked<\/a> in a podcast that on the first day of the trial, during which Trump was alleged to have fallen asleep, it was warmer in the courtroom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is presiding over Trump\u2019s criminal case in Washington for attempting to overturn the 2020 election, told jurors in a trial last year that she prefers the courtroom to be warm. <\/p>\n<p>A trial with Chutkan is one that Trump is aiming not to appear in any time soon, and Chutkan has indicated she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/02\/05\/chutkan-trump-trial-date-2024-00139665\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>expects<\/a> his trial to be further delayed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Donald Trump expressed his belief on Friday as he entered the &#8220;freezing&#8221; New York courtroom for his hush money trial that the temperature was deliberately lowered.
