Voters\u2062 unify\u2064 in cracking \u200cdown on China, a key issue in a polarized election.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>EXCLUSIVE \u2014 <\/strong>Voters are becoming increasingly concerned about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cruz-pushes-to-reinstate-sanctions-on-russian-pipeline-biden-supports-in-exchange-for-nominee-approvals\/\" title=\"Cruz Pushes to Reinstate Sanctions on Russian Pipeline Biden Supports in Exchange for Nominee Approvals\">national security risks posed<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">China<\/a>, including regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/food\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">food<\/a> security, and are welcoming of stricter, protectionist measures in response, except when it comes to TikTok, according to a new national poll.<\/p>\n<p>The poll, conducted by the Tyson Group and paid for by conservative nonprofit organization Building America\u2019s Future, found former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> was leading President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> 39% to 36% before November\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/impossible-gop-picked-up-seats-in-house-picked-up-state-legislatures-picked-up-governorship-held-the-senate-but-sniffy-joe-won-not-a-chance\/\" title=\"IMPOSSIBLE: GOP Picked Up Seats in House, Picked Up State Legislatures, Picked Up Governorship, Held the Senate -- But Sniffy Joe Won?... NOT A CHANCE\">general election<\/a>, with independent candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/rfk-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> receiving another 11% of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>But the poll also found a majority of likely general election voters supported legislation introducing tougher measures on China.<\/p>\n<p>Of the approximately 1,000 people polled, the most popular proposals were legislation that \u201cwould give China less control over our food supply by protecting a key <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/agriculture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>agriculture<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/farming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>farming<\/a> ingredient made in America\u201d and legislation that would support U.S. companies \u201cin key industries so we are less reliant on China in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>technology<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pharmaceutical-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>pharmaceutical<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/transportation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>transportation<\/a> sectors,\u201d with 69% of respondents for both pieces of legislation and 15% against the first and 14% against the latter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a tight election with a polarized electorate, cracking down on China is an issue that unifies Americans across party lines,\u201d<strong> <\/strong>Tyson Group President and CEO Ryan Tyson told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. \u201cVoters are overwhelmingly concerned about the [Chinese Communist Party] trying to increase their influence on our food supply and will punish candidates at the ballot box who refuse to take steps to ensure key agriculture ingredients continue to be made in America instead of being outsourced to China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other popular policies polled included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Legislation that would \u201cimpose stricter regulations on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/vaping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>vape<\/a> products to address concerns about vapes manufactured in China,\u201d 65% for to 18%\u00a0against<\/li>\n<li>Legislation that would \u201ceffectively ban Chinese nationals from purchasing United States farmland,\u201d 61% for to 21% against<\/li>\n<li>Legislation that would restrict taxpayer funds from Confucius Institutes, 58% for and 18% against<\/li>\n<li>Legislation that would \u201cban the use of Chinese-made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/drones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>drones<\/a> by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>federal government and state governments<\/a>,\u201d 58% for and 21% against<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIncreasing oversight on companies that do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>business<\/a> in China,\u201d 56% for to 22% against<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Less popular ones included only a plurality of respondents supporting a \u201ccomplete ban\u201d on all Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/social-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>social media<\/a> companies, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tiktok\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>TikTok<\/a> (46% to 37%), and even fewer people being for \u201cincorporating an anti-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/communism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>communist<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/policy\/education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>curriculum<\/a> for grades K-12\u2033 (35% to 33%).<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The poll\u2019s other national findings included that 43% of respondents considered Trump favorably, in comparison to 48% who perceived the opposite. In contrast, Biden had a 39% favorability to 53% unfavorability rating, with 39% approving of his performance as president and 53% disapproving. In addition, 28% contended the country was headed in the right direction and 59% disagreed, arguing it was on the wrong track.<\/p>\n<p>The poll of 1,004 likely voters was conducted through an internet panel from April 22-23.
