Special Judge Fran Gull made this ruling following requests from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-unveil-instructions-to-access-january-6-capitol-footage\/\" title=\"House GOP Reveals Steps to Access Jan 6 Capitol Footage\">news \u2064agencies<\/a> to stream the trial. The case\u200c involves Richard Allen, accused of kidnapping\u2064 and \u2063murdering two teenagers in\u200b 2017. \u2063Pre-trial drama includes \u2064disputes over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-please-pardon-jon-woods-a-victim-of-process-crimes-like-michael-flynn\/\" title=\"President Trump, Please Pardon Jon Woods, a Victim of Process Crimes Like Michael Flynn\">defense attorneys<\/a> and the \u2062judge. Further legal challenges \u200chave added to\u2063 the case&#8217;s complexity.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Cameras will not be allowed in the courtroom during the high-profile trial beginning in Delphi, Indiana, next month.<\/p>\n<p>Special Judge Fran Gull ruled this week that audio, video, and electronics will all be banned from the courtroom, Fox 59 <a href=\"https:\/\/fox59.com\/news\/indycrime\/judge-wont-allow-cameras-in-delphi-murders-trial\/amp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. The ruling comes after multiple news agencies filed requests to stream video and\/or audio during the trial, which is set to begin on May 13.<\/p>\n<p>The denial comes as the case has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-descend-into-twitter-war-with-amazon\/\" title=\"Democrats Descend into Twitter War With Amazon\">drawn national attention<\/a> for its unusual pre-trial drama, including an attempt to remove original defense attorneys Brad Rozzi and Andrew Baldwin and a counter-attempt by those defense attorneys to replace the judge.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Allen will be on trial for allegedly kidnapping and murdering 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German on a Delphi hiking trail in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland attempted to hold Rozzi and Baldwin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/legal-drama-continues-ahead-of-delphi-murder-suspects-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in contempt<\/a> last month. The defense attorneys hired David Hennessy to represent them in the matter, and argued that McLeland accused his clients of violating the court\u2019s order regarding statements about the case. He cited a news release from November 2022 \u2013 which was before the court issued a gag order.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Gull had previously forced the defense attorneys to withdraw from the case, and the circumstances surrounding that withdrawal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/indiana-supreme-court-to-hear-arguments-this-week-on-reinstating-delphi-murder-suspects-original-attorneys-removing-judge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were presented<\/a> to the Indiana Supreme Court in January.<\/p>\n<p>The attorneys alleged that during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-gov-cuomo-shunned-experts-embraced-lobbyists-drove-top-health-officials-to-quit-over-pandemic-response-report\/\" title=\"NY Gov. Cuomo Shunned Experts, Embraced Lobbyists, Drove Top Health Officials To Quit Over Pandemic Response: Report\">closed-door meeting<\/a> with Gull, the judge threatened to harm the attorney\u2019s reputation by accusing them of \u201cgross negligence\u201d in open court unless they withdrew from the case. The attorneys withdrew but filed a petition to represent Allen pro bono. Judge Gull then barred them from representing Allen in any capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The transcript, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wthr.com\/article\/news\/crime\/delphi-girls-murdered\/delphi-murders-trial-transcript-released-conversation-richard-allen-attorneys-disqualification-judge-chambers-libby-german-abby-williams-indiana-case\/531-2878bbc2-4e2d-429a-b13e-89a0aa72b467\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first obtained by WTHR<\/a>, shows the judge planned to remove the two attorneys prior to her public announcement they had withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714148549579000&#038;usg=AOvVaw057RcQatfHxkfOmabs1tZN\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>At the meeting, which included McLeland, the group discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/attorneys-for-man-suspected-of-killing-delphi-teens-withdraw-from-case-after-security-breach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a leak of documents<\/a> from Baldwin\u2019s office, but Judge Gull stated that was not the only reason she wanted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/indiana-supreme-court-will-hear-arguments-this-month-on-reinstating-delphi-murder-suspects-original-attorneys-removing-judge\/\" title=\"Indiana Supreme Court to Hear Arguments on Reinstating Delphi Murder Suspect's Lawyers, Ousting Judge\">attorneys removed<\/a> from representing Allen. Gull said the attorneys \u201cpotentially\u201d violated the Rules of Professional Responsibility. She told Baldwin he was \u201cgrossly negligent\u201d for sending a sensitive email to a \u201cBrad\u201d who was not Rozzi, and questioned whether the two attorneys had fully cooperated with a gag order she had filed. She also said she had evidence the attorneys \u201cleft materials all over a conference-room table, accessible to anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following their withdrawal, Rozzi and Baldwin tried to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-charges-filed-against-delphi-murder-suspect-original-attorneys-reinstated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">get Judge Gull removed<\/a> from the case, to no avail.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cameras banned from Delphi trial courtroom next month.
