It aims to prevent minors from undergoing gender-related treatments without proper consent. The Tennessee Statehouse recently passed a bill that enables legal recourse\u200b against adults \u2062who assist minors in transgender procedures without parental consent. This legislation establishes a \u2063civil \u200ccause of action specifically targeting\u2063 individuals\u200d who transport minors out of state for\u200b such treatments. Its\u2063 primary objective is\u2064 to safeguard minors from \u2064undergoing gender-related procedures\u2064 without the\u2064 necessary\u2063 parental \u200dapproval.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the Tennessee Statehouse offered approval of a bill that would allow civil causes of action to be brought against adults aiding minors in accessing transgender procedures without parental consent.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/wapp.capitol.tn.gov\/apps\/BillInfo\/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB2310&#038;ga=113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">summary<\/a> of the bill on the Tennessee state legislature\u2019s website states that \u201cas introduced,\u201d the bill \u201ccreates a civil cause of action against any person who knowingly removes a minor from this state without the consent of a parent of the minor for the purpose of assisting the minor in obtaining a healthcare procedure that is to enable the minor to identify with, or live as, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tennessee-gop-proposes-bill-to-ban-public-drag-shows-medical-transition-of-minors\/\" title=\"Tennessee GOP Proposes Bill to Ban Public Drag Shows, Medical Transition of Minors\">purported identity inconsistent<\/a> with the minor\u2019s sex or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-files-lawsuit-challenging-tennessee-ban-on-transgender-procedures-for-minors\/\" title=\"Biden Admin Files Lawsuit Challenging Tennessee Ban on Transgender Procedures for Minors\">treating purported discomfort<\/a> or distress from a discordance between the minor\u2019s sex and asserted identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This means that adults who take such action, assisting minors in leaving the state to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/leading-trans-health-group-wants-to-lower-ages-for-medical-gender-transition\/\" title=\"Leading Trans Health Group Wants to Lower Ages for Medical Gender Transition\">obtain cross-sex hormones<\/a> or to undergo transgender procedures, are liable for taking that action and can be sued. The original version of the bill included criminal penalties for adults in violation of it, but it was amended to only allow for civil penalties for violators.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/tennessee-transgender-care-ban-minors-b7b6700f6a54a3788ec0697f065281b6?taid=662ad282ce74510001c0e6ac&#038;utm_campaign=TrueAnthem&#038;utm_medium=AP&#038;utm_source=Twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press<\/a> notes that the bill is extremely similar to one approved on Wednesday, which would allow civil action to be taken against adults who assist minors in obtaining an abortion without parental consent.
