In Congress, for instance, \u201cRepublican\u201d and \u201cDemocrat\u201d often convey little more than the illusion of difference.<\/p>\n<p>For gauging the electorate\u2019s mood, however, voter registrations \u2014 particularly when measured in the tens of thousands \u2014 can prove useful.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/azsos.gov\/elections\/results-data\/voter-registration-statistics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statistics<\/a> provided by the Arizona Secretary of State, registered Republicans now outnumber registered Democrats in the anticipated swing state by a margin of 242,777.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 1,434,982 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/evangelist-tells-arizona-crowd-trump-cant-save-america-can-give-church-time-save\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona<\/a> voters have registered as Republicans as of this month compared with 1,192,205 Democrats. That gives Republicans an overall advantage of nearly 6 percent (35.36 percent to 29.38 percent).<\/p>\n<p>For comparison\u2019s sake, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/azfree.org\/blog\/2024\/04\/09\/is-arizona-turning-blue-the-latest-voter-registration-numbers-tell-a-different-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona Free Enterprise Club<\/a>, on Election Day 2022, the GOP held an advantage of roughly 166,000 registered voters. And in 2020, the Republican advantage stood at roughly 130,000.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, independent voters often swing elections one way or the other.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, for instance, despite the Republican advantage, Arizona certified its election for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/vile-biden-comes-fire-invoking-jesus-promoting-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a>. Fewer than 11,000 votes separated Biden and then-President Donald Trump, according to the official <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Presidential_election_in_Arizona,_2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">results<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/election\/2020\/exit-polls\/president\/arizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> exit poll showed that Arizona\u2019s independents broke for Biden over Trump, 53 percent to 44 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, regardless of party affiliation, self-described \u201cmoderates\u201d overwhelmingly favored the Democratic nominee, 67 percent to 32 percent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Will Trump win Arizona in November?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In other words, the vast middle of the Arizona electorate helped deliver the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-goes-completely-incoherent-wisconsin-event-worse-usual\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tragicomic spectacle<\/a> of a Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>On that front, however, the new voter registration data brought more good news for the GOP.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans now hold a 65,000-voter advantage over independents, according to the state\u2019s registration totals.<\/p>\n<p>Coupled with the net gain of more than 110,000 registered Republicans compared with Democrats since 2020, that likely spells good news for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gop-voting-numbers-show-growing-issue-might-cost-trump-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> in this fall\u2019s electoral rematch with Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, voter registrations supported recent polling data.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/arizona\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClearPolling<\/a> average of polls \u2014 all conducted since March 7 \u2014 Trump holds a solid 5-point lead over Biden in Arizona. That included a Bloomberg\/Morning Consult poll from early April that showed the Republican with a 7-point lead.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, an early April poll from <a href=\"https:\/\/kstp.com\/kstp-news\/top-news\/kstp-surveyusa-poll-biden-trump-locked-in-dead-heat-in-minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KSTP\/SurveyUSA<\/a> showed Biden with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-gets-even-more-delusional-says-he-can-win-red-state-that-he-lost\/\" title=\"Biden claims he can win a lost red state, displaying delusion\">narrow 2-point lead<\/a> in Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>Yet RealClearPolling lists Arizona among its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rnc-to-mobilize-100000-election-integrity-workers-across-battleground-states\/\" title=\"RNC Plans to Deploy 100,000 'Election Integrity' Workers in Key States\">expected battleground states<\/a> while excluding Minnesota. In 2020, the Gopher State <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Presidential_election_in_Minnesota,_2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">certified<\/a> a 7-point Biden victory over Trump, 52.4 percent to 45.3 percent, which could explain the prominent polling aggregator\u2019s reluctance to move Minnesota into the battleground category.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Arizona was not alone in delivering good news on the voter registration front.<\/p>\n<p>In Florida, for instance, the Republican advantage over Democrats has reached nearly 900,000. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-gets-even-delusional-says-can-win-red-state-lost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden\u2019s delusions<\/a> to the contrary notwithstanding, that former battleground state now appears to be solid red.<\/p>\n<p>On the whole, while it remains difficult to draw definitive conclusions from either voter registrations or polling data, the combination of the two certainly paints a bright red picture in Arizona.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
