This imitation hints at China&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-ukrainian-drones-destroy-russian-missile-ship-off-crimean-coast\/\" title=\"VIDEO: Ukrainian Drones Obliterate Russian Missile Ship Near Crimea\">growing military prowess<\/a>, aiming to \u2062outmatch the U.S. in military strength, altering \u2062global power dynamics.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>  <\/p>\n<h2>What Was Spotted Under a Chinese Bomber Looks Just Like Piece of American Tech Lost Over China<\/h2>\n<p> <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/%20\"><span>Allison Anton<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   April 25, 2024 at 4:12pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but in the case of the U.S. and China, the blatant imitation has often seemed much more sinister.<\/p>\n<p>Among the many things China has ripped off wholesale from the U.S., including the interstate system and a booming industry of cheap knockoffs of American products, one of them, apparently, is now a drone that crashed in China back in 1971.<\/p>\n<p>As reported Wednesday on <a href=\"https:\/\/defence-blog.com\/chinese-mystery-drone-spotted-attached-to-h-6-bomber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Defense Blog<\/a>, observers have spotted a new unmanned aircraft in Chinese airspace.<\/p>\n<p>Known as the WZ-8, observers first saw it attached to the underside of a People\u2019s Liberation Army Air Force Xian H-6 bomber.<\/p>\n<p>The WZ-8 is a high-speed reconnaissance drone. Many of those same observers noticed that the WZ-8 bears a striking resemblance to the defunct American Lockheed D-21 drone.<\/p>\n<p>Originally part of a project to create a series of unmanned drones to spy on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/taiwan-become-berlin-time-new-cold-war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cold War<\/a> enemies like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/historian-predicted-fall-soviet-union-makes-startling-world-war-iii-remarks-already-begun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soviet Union<\/a>, the D-21 was the last of four failed prototypes that spelled the doom of the project, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/china-supersonic-spy-drone-looks-like-lockheed-d21-2024-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Business Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in March of 1971, the D-21 was supposed to gather intelligence about a Chinese nuclear test site, but instead crashed into China\u2019s southwestern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-obama-admin-funded-chinas-coronavirus-research-gave-millions-taxpayer-money-wuhan-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yunnan<\/a> province.<\/p>\n<p>It had been mostly forgotten until 2019, when, during celebrations for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/apple-bows-beijing-removes-top-apps-behest-chinese-communist-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinese Communist<\/a> regime\u2019s 70th anniversary, the government unveiled the WZ-8, which had the same dark color and streamlined design of the D-21.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nationalinterest.org\/blog\/buzz\/chinas-new-mach-6-drone-could-be-copycat-americas-d-21-spied-china-210704\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The National Interest<\/a> even noticed that the WZ-8 drone was launched from a mothership just like the D-21.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should China be considered America\u2019s top adversary?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Granted, China will, most likely, never confirm their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/chinese-housewife-implicated-206-false-encyclopedia-articles-user-makes-shocking-discovery-russian-entry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blatant plagiarism<\/a>, and the images that have been taken are rather unclear.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddf3 The Chinese Xian H-6 strategic bomber was spotted (second photo, first render) with a Chinese WZ-8 supersonic drone slung over its shoulder. The WZ-8\u2019s mission is to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/russia-moves-forward-with-annexation-plans-despite-setbacks-on-the-battlefield\/\" title=\"Russia Moves Forward With Annexation Plans Despite Setbacks on the Battlefield\">conduct reconnaissance<\/a> in Southeast Asia, including Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.<\/p>\n<p>A supersonic reconnaissance\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/g79GgzTJxu\">pic.twitter.com\/g79GgzTJxu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jesse Pinkman (@ictusconfirmed) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ictusconfirmed\/status\/1781374305974018344?\">April 19, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, based on those images, it did seem clear that China copied the D-21 wholesale, with a few modifications, like reportedly being designed to fly at three times the speed of sound, as well as reaching altitudes of 100,000 feet, or nearly 19 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Again, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/china-now-threatens-overtake-top-spot-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">China<\/a> has become notorious for its copycat tactics, but this particular copy might be more sinister than most.<\/p>\n<p>For one thing, modern China has far surpassed what it was even a mere 30 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/following-bidens-signature-climate-bill-china-made-telling-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">industrial capacity<\/a> has far surpassed every other nation in record time. It has now turned much of its engineering and production toward military projects.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, China will probably try to keep up that same rapid pace of advancements in both technology and manufacturing, while applying those advancements to beefing up their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/us-loses-military-dominance-china-key-area-profound-implications-predicted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">military<\/a> equipment and capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>If they do, then they could emerge as a much more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gingrich-china-russia-alliance-biden-us-helm-creates-dangerous-time-nations-history-since-1776\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dangerous<\/a> and formidable foe than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/china-begins-permanent-warship-deployment-direct-challenge-us-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United States<\/a> could not and cannot afford to look away as this massive country continues to arm itself and aggressively posture.<\/p>\n<p>Because, if the United States is not vigilant, China will do more than just copy the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>They might even try to supplant it as the world\u2019s dominant superpower.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
