While it is not the first time Trump\u2019s cases have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/politics\/live-news\/trump-classified-documents-fani-willis-03-01-24\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"overlapped\">overlapped<\/a>, it is the first time Trump has been the key figure in both proceedings despite not being present at one of them.<\/p>\n<p>In Trump\u2019s case regarding presidential immunity, the Supreme Court\u2019s decision could have ramifications on when and if some of the prosecutions against the former president can proceed \u2013 most notably his 2020 election interference case in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>The two high-profile cases, with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee at the center of it, have seen the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"media\">media<\/a> take different approaches on how to balance the dueling proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>CNN anchor Kaitlin Collins remarked the literal split-screen between Trump\u2019s two cases was \u201cremarkable\u201d ahead of the Supreme Court\u2019s oral argument.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe talk about\u00a0split-screen a lot, but this is\u00a0really remarkable to see Donald\u00a0Trump in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Manhattan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Manhattan<\/a> courthouse\u00a0and also his attorneys \u2014 his\u00a0other attorneys going into the\u00a0Supreme Court,\u201d Collins said on CNN on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The cable network gave a literal split screen, within the media limitations imposed by the Supreme Court and Manhattan court, offering live audio of the Supreme Court\u2019s oral arguments and a live blog with updates.<\/p>\n<p>The former president\u2019s rallies were regularly carried by CNN during the 2016 campaign, but in recent years the network has declined to carry most of his rallies and has <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/media\/4425598-cnn-cuts-away-fact-checks-trump-victory-speech-in-new-hampshire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"cut away\">cut away<\/a> from speeches it has shown. With the court cases, the network is giving the arguments before the Supreme Court their full attention, and has aired Trump\u2019s brief remarks outside of the courtroom in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News Channel also attempted to juggle the two court cases, offering up a similar live blog stream of the hush money case on-screen prior to the Supreme Court\u2019s oral arguments. Once the arguments in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/will-democrats-try-to-pack-the-supreme-court-if-roe-v-wade-is-overturned\/\" title=\"Will Democrats Try to Pack the Supreme Court if Roe v. Wade Is Overturned?\">high court began<\/a>, the network cut away from the text updates to carry audio from the Supreme Court with images of the speakers. <\/p>\n<p>Later a picture-in-picture of a camera outside of the Manhattan courtroom where Trump is was placed on the screen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/MSNBC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>MSNBC<\/a>, C-SPAN, and other networks carried special coverage of the Supreme Court proceedings but did not attempt a split-screen with the hush money case \u2014 where the court has banned audio or video from being broadcast.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The former president has taken advantage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/2979129\/trump-jumps-on-free-media-outside-new-york-court-to-blast-judge-and-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"extra media attention\">extra media attention<\/a>, after he was barred from being excused from proceedings in the hush money case by the judge to attend his Supreme Court case.
