Simpson as innocent of the killings of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.<\/p>\n<p>Although Simpson, who died April 10, was found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/claims-say-oj-simpson-loved-ones-last-moments-attorney-tells-different-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not guilty<\/a> of the murders, he went to his grave with the taint of presumed guilt clinging to him. Public perception had condemned Simpson, despite what the courts had determined.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that perception, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/o-j-simpson-movie-owen-wilson-1235879933\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> says a long-dormant project about Simpson has come back to life as \u201cThe Juice.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A movie that depicts OJ Simpson as innocent of the murders he committed might be the most ridiculous and insane movie plots I\u2019ve read in a long time:<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Opie (@AyoCarl) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AyoCarl\/status\/1783247502562484500?\">April 24, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt3015054\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMDB<\/a>, the storyline is that \u201cDouglas McCann, a street-smart LA attorney, risks everything when conspiracy theorists draw him into the divisive O.J. Simpson saga in this satirical thriller.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Director Joshua Newton said the major stumbling block in the film, which started life in 2015 as a project called \u201cNicole and O.J.\u201d was finding the perfect actor to play McCann.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOwen Wilson was perfect for the role,\u201d Newton said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually had a meeting with him in Santa Monica. Everybody loved the script. His agent wanted him to do it.
