Simpson<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/movies\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, willed as a \u201csatirical thriller\u201d called \u201cThe Juice,\u201d is currently in production with British filmmaker Joshua Newton taking the lead.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The movie depicts Simpson as being innocent of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. The former NFL Hall of Famer was acquitted of the crime in 1995 following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/benjamin-netanyahu-poised-to-return-to-power\/\" title=\"Benjamin Netanyahu Poised to Return to Power\">high-profile criminal trial<\/a>, but many people believe the verdict was incorrect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A jury found Simpson liable for the murders during a civil trial in 1997 and awarded the victims\u2019 families $33.5 million in compensatory and punitive damages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Newton said he had envisioned Wilson playing attorney Douglas McCann in the film, but the actor shut down initial talks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOwen Wilson was perfect for the role,\u201d the filmmaker told Rambler Reporter, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2024\/04\/24\/owen-wilson-turned-down-lead-role-oj-simpson-movie-innocent\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">TMZ<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI actually had a meeting with him in Santa Monica. Everybody loved the script. His agent wanted him to do it.
