After Carson sent the script to the network, he was told by Fox News that he had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-reveals-fox-news-really-felt-jan-6-footage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">canceled<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCarlson planned to tease the first part of a one-hour interview with former Capitol Police chief Steven Sund. In that interview, which Fox owns and refused to air, Sund revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/waffle-arizona-house-speaker-claims-they-cant-enforce-constitution-wont-commit-to-calling-legislative-hearing\/\" title=\"WAFFLE: Arizona House Speaker Claims They Can\u2019t Enforce Constitution, Won\u2019t Commit To Calling Legislative Hearing\">federal law<\/a> enforcement and Democratic members of Congress were aware of impending violence during the January 6 election integrity protests but vetoed assistance to cops on the ground,\u201d Moore wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore chilling, and perhaps darkly ironic, Carlson planned to discuss members of the government lobbying to have his show taken off the air,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Carlson has continued to speak, defying the conventions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">mainstream media<\/a> as he wishes, as with his interview with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>But a year ago, he had a powerful response to comments from Democratic Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-aoc-sends-signal-college-protesters-within-hours-mob-forces-columbia-take-drastic-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> of New York labeling his efforts to champion Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion defendants as inciting the kind of violence that government needs to suppress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have very real issues with what is permissible on air,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said on former White House press secretary Jen Psaki\u2019s MSNBC show on April 23, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we saw that with Jan. 6, and we saw that in the lead up to Jan. 6. And how we navigate questions \u2014 not just a freedom of speech but also accountability for incitement of violence \u2014 this is the line that we have to really explore through law as well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Are you a fan of Tucker Carlson?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI believe that when it comes to broadcast television, like Fox News, these are subject to federal law, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tsa-can-now-fine-you-for-not-masking-up-following-biden-executive-order\/\" title=\"TSA Can Now Fine You For Not Masking Up Following Biden Executive Order\">federal regulation<\/a> in terms of what\u2019s allowed on air and what isn\u2019t,\u201d the congresswoman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look at what Tucker Carlson and some of these other folks on Fox do, it is very, very clearly incitement of violence \u2014 very clearly incitement of violence. And that is the line that we have to be willing to contend with,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oM_0fDWpGeo?si=M9DjodeVfkKUunw2&#038;start=297\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The monologue Carlson never gave pushed back hard, according to Moore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSandy Cortes did just an interview with Jen Psaki, in which she demands that authorities pull our show off the air,\u201d Carlson wrote in the script, using one of his favorite nicknames for Ocasio-Cortez.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMembers of Congress aren\u2019t allowed to talk like this,\u201d he said. \u201cThe constitution of the United States prohibits it. American citizens have an inalienable right to critique and criticize their political leaders. Our politicians are not gods. They\u2019re instruments of the public\u2019s will. They serve the rest of us, not the other way around.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor that obvious reason, politicians can never censor our speech or try to control what we think. That unchanging fact is the basis of our founding documents, of our political system and of our personal freedoms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a former government official who claims now to be a journalist, Jen Psaki should know this, and defend America\u2019s foundational principle. She refuses. Instead, Psaki nods along like a fan as Sandy Cortez calls for law enforcement to shut down news programming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlson wrote that it was \u201cdistressing to watch this. The last thing America needs is more public figures saying radical things. What if we came on the air five nights a week and called for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes to be hand-cuffed and carted away because we don\u2019t like her political views? We could certainly do that. We never would, because it would be terrible for our [country].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After denouncing extremism, he wrote that \u201cbecause the words of our leaders matter, let\u2019s consider the substance of what Sandy Cortes is saying. She\u2019s demanding that our show be canceled because the things we\u2019re saying are quote, \u2018very clearly an incitement to violence.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs this true? Even accounting for the fact that people tend to hear what they want to hear, it is not true. It\u2019s a lie, as anyone who watches this show knows. We are opposed to violence, not just philosophically but in practical terms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlson turned to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dem-rep-says-police-officer-bludgeoned-death-jan-6-chip-roy-makes-look-like-fool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Capitol incursion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJanuary 6th was a violent insurrection they tell us \u2014 and on the basis of that claim, they\u2019ve turned the war on terror against America\u2019s own citizens,\u201d he said. \u201cWe believe that is a false characterization, as we\u2019ve said many times. January 6th was not an insurrection, which is why no one has been charged for that crime. No guns were brought into the Capitol. No plans to overthrow the government have ever been found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was not an insurrection. But there was violence. A Capitol police officer called Michael Byrd executed Ashli Babbit, an unarmed protester, and was praised for doing it by politicians in both parties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After discussing the murky role of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ray-epps-given-probation-involvement-jan-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ray Epps<\/a> \u2013 who eventually received probation for his role in calling for the Capitol to be stormed \u2013 Carlson turned to his interview with Sund, which never aired.<\/p>\n<p>However, the script that Moore shared had some text and notes as a guide to what would have aired.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCLIPS HERE OF SUND SHOWING THAT [then-House Speaker Nancy] PELOSI AND THE PENTAGON AND FBI KNEW VIOLENCE WAS COMING, BUT DID NOTHING TO STOP IT. KEPT HIS GUYS FROM PROTECTING THEMSELVES. HID INTEL. KEPT THE NATIONAL GUARD FROM ASSISTING.
