Disgraceful. Unconscionable'\">left-wing<\/a> victory and \u201ctransformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Funders\u2019 Committee for Civic Participation (FCCP) held its annual convening in Phoenix from April 15 to 18, with speakers from groups including George Soros\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/speaker\/1151087\/elizabeth-guernsey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Society Foundations<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034548\/opening-plenary-protecting-the-people%27s-will-stabilizing-the-post-election-environment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voting Rights Lab<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/4556680?page=1&#038;per-page=16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Youth Engagement Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-846424547\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e9b78e5a92d758633cf385604ad2e34f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e9b78e5a92d758633cf385604ad2e34f\"><\/div>\n<p>Speakers with these groups discussed building an infrastructure to help progressives reach victory and maintain power, even in conservative states. <\/p>\n<p>The elite left-wing influence network Democracy Alliance, an FCCP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/the-funders-committee-for-civic-participation-fccp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">member<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/youth-engagement-fund-democracy-alliance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">created<\/a> one of the groups in attendance. It used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/1711244\/the-blue-state-blueprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">similar strategies<\/a> to give Democrats control of Colorado back in 2008, outsmarting Colorado Republicans at the time. <\/p>\n<p>According to supplemental <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1Vllvy8Uk2AkvfrpWPzfdru_beOCD949VIoKUU3nKLSw\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">materials<\/a> from the conference, Democrat groups are still using these tactics to subvert Republican control. Liberal groups spent more than $1.5 billion in 2020, while conservative groups spent $900 million, according to an analysis of the 15 most politically active Democrat-leaning and Republican-leaning nonprofits as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/01\/29\/us\/politics\/democrats-dark-money-donors.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The New York Times<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The conference\u2019s webpage features a <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.org\/event\/funders-committee-2024-annual-convening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disclaimer<\/a> that \u201cas with all FCCP events, the subject matter is strictly limited to non-partisan discussion as outlined in the agenda.\u201d The agenda itself, however, calls this into question.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-feb5c10793c8dd33c7546debf67c0f2d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-feb5c10793c8dd33c7546debf67c0f2d\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Building Infrastructure for the Left<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Speakers held a <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034560\/changing-the-game-how-innovation-in-state-based-infrastructure-is-making-bold-power-building-work-possible\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">session<\/a> on shaping \u201cstate-based infrastructure\u201d to enable \u201cbold power-building work.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>One speaker during this session was Jamila Martin, Michigan state adviser for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/movement-voter-project-mvp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Movement Voter Project<\/a> \u2014 a \u201cclearinghouse for Democratic donors\u201d run by \u201cveteran Democratic operatives.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>MVP is aiming to <a href=\"https:\/\/movement.vote\/michigan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">win<\/a> Michigan for Democrats in 2024 and is partnering with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backofficemi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Back Office for Organizing in Michigan<\/a> to help organize its victory. This group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backofficemi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says<\/a> it aims to help \u201csocial justice and community-based organizations\u201d focused on \u201cmultiracial working class power building.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBOOM is a movement-owned back-office for-profit that provides accounting and operations services to MI\u2019s multi-entity organizing groups \u2014 a significant innovation,\u201d the agenda <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034560\/changing-the-game-how-innovation-in-state-based-infrastructure-is-making-bold-power-building-work-possible\">reads<\/a>. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-70aa417d1392c0dc17c026a72354d7c9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-70aa417d1392c0dc17c026a72354d7c9\"><\/div>\n<p>The session came with supplemental <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1Vllvy8Uk2AkvfrpWPzfdru_beOCD949VIoKUU3nKLSw\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">materials<\/a> discussing how to advance progressive infrastructure in Florida and Ohio. <\/p>\n<p>The packet on Florida said while a \u201cRising American Electorate\u201d is flipping southern states blue, Florida is the exception \u2014 but lefty groups have a <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5b19a17655b02c8bc99f7988\/t\/6345f790e11bea7863730b26\/1665529750094\/IRG+_+NLA_Florida+Case+Study.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">plan<\/a> to change that. According to the packet, groups in the state have launched a \u201cmovement-owned field vendor,\u201d developed media infrastructure, and helped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/florida-politics\/2023\/07\/19\/florida-vote-felon-restoration-amendment-4-desantis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">felons vote<\/a> by passing Amendment 4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA set of multi-entity progressive organizations has been developing a deeper power analysis of the state, building a long-term strategy to win elections and policy fights,\u201d the packet reads. <\/p>\n<p>The packet on Ohio said the state \u201crecently shifted red with an increasingly reactionary electorate,\u201d but discussed ways self-styled progressive groups are <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5b19a17655b02c8bc99f7988\/t\/6345f885d9682847ac65af5d\/1665529990036\/IRG+_+NLA_Ohio+Case+Study+%281%29+%281%29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">taking advantage<\/a> of the situation. The state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/antifa-blm-vandalize-ice-building-burn-original-starbucks\/\" title=\"Antifa, BLM vandalize ICE building, burn original Starbucks\">left-wing groups<\/a> have been working on producing \u201cunrestricted income\u201d for the movement, creating \u201cback-office\u201d support for \u201cpower building\u201d groups, and establishing a \u201chome for progressive staff and activists to help them contest for power across more arenas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But such initiatives go beyond these states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fight for a progressive Ohio led to innovations in state infrastructure that has been, and will continue to be, modeled in other states,\u201d the Ohio packet reads.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fortifying Democrat Victory<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Another <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034535\/we-plan-we-win-what%E2%80%99s-next-seizing-power-starts-in-the-transition-after-election-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">session<\/a> was called, \u201cWe plan, we win, what\u2019s next? Seizing power starts in the transition after election day.\u201d It aimed at bringing \u201ctrue transformation\u201d after placing Democrats in office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we want to win power, we have to demonstrate that we can govern, and that means supporting people to plan their transitions and execute,\u201d the agenda <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034535\/we-plan-we-win-what%E2%80%99s-next-seizing-power-starts-in-the-transition-after-election-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reads<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Guernsey, chief of staff for Soros\u2019 Open Society Foundations in the United States, spoke during the session. According to her <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/speaker\/1151087\/elizabeth-guernsey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bio<\/a>, she has recently been focusing on \u201cwomen\u2019s power building investments and pro-democracy strategy.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis session will explore the concept of transition planning, its challenges, gaps, and opportunities to advance a more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-illinois-sheriffs-departments-refuse-request-to-staff-chicago-streets-during-possible-police-shortage\/\" title=\"More Illinois Sheriffs Departments Refuse Request To Staff Chicago Streets During Possible Police Shortage\">progressive political agenda<\/a>,\u201d the agenda reads. <\/p>\n<p>Open Society Foundations is an FCCP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/the-funders-committee-for-civic-participation-fccp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">member<\/a> that doles out hundreds of millions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/open-society-foundations\/\">dollars<\/a> to left-wing causes to help advance Soros\u2019 \u201canti-capitalist, redistributionist\u201d ideology. For years, it has been <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/03\/heres-a-look-into-popular-voter-database-erics-left-wing-origins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">funding<\/a> get-out-the-vote efforts for likely Democrat voters. <\/p>\n<p>After self-described progressive leaders win, they should focus on \u201cstabilizing the post-election environment\u201d against threats to election outcomes and \u201cfaith in our democracy,\u201d speakers addressed in another <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034548\/opening-plenary-protecting-the-people's-will-stabilizing-the-post-election-environment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">session<\/a>. These supposed threats included challenges to election results, \u201cdisinformation,\u201d and \u201cconspiracies.\u201d The FCCP said it helped \u201cstabilize\u201d the environment after the 2020 and 2022 elections, and it plans to do this in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Voting Rights Lab officials Randy Perez and Becca Israel were listed as speakers for this session. The group is a former project of the New Venture Fund \u2014 a branch of the left-wing powerhouse Arabella Advisors \u2014 and pushes leftist policies to promote mail-in and felon voting and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/organization\/voting-rights-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transform our voting systems<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>This session also featured clearly ideologically motivated officials like <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/4556680?page=3&#038;per-page=16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pima County Recorder Gabriella C\u00e1zares-Kelly<\/a>, who is in charge of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recorder.pima.gov\/WhatWeDo#:~:text=The%20Pima%20County%20Recorder's%20Office,the%20citizens%20of%20Pima%20County.&#038;text=The%20Pima%20County%20Recorder's%20Office%20records%20and%20maintains%20public%20records%20and%20documents.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voter registration<\/a> for the Arizona county that includes Tuscon, the second largest city in the state. In her <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GabriellaCKelly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bio<\/a> and activity on X, she boasts about her efforts in \u201cdismantling white supremacy\u201d and features her preferred \u201cshe\/her\u201d pronouns.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u2018The Left Just Bought the Racetrack<\/strong>\u2018<\/h2>\n<p>Another <a href=\"https:\/\/funderscommittee.swoogo.com\/Register\/session\/2034538\/charting-new-paths-resilience-collaboration-and-transformation-in-arizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">session<\/a> covered \u201cCharting new paths: resilience, collaboration, and transformation in Arizona.\u201d While the agenda does not offer a description, speakers included Youth Engagement Fund officials Alejandra Ruiz and Catherine Jung. <\/p>\n<p>YEF is another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/youth-engagement-fund-democracy-alliance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project<\/a> of Arabella\u2019s New Venture Fund. Democracy Alliance, which created YEF, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/app\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Democracy-Alliance-2020-Investment-Portfolio-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">committed<\/a> $146 million to \u201cprogressive infrastructure map\u201d groups ahead of the 2020 election. It works with groups like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/america-votes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">America Votes<\/a> and Arabella to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/organization\/democracy-alliance-da\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">build<\/a> a left-wing power infrastructure. <\/p>\n<p>When Republicans still held power in Colorado, Democracy Alliance\u2019s state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/organization\/colorado-democracy-alliance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">affiliate<\/a> began \u201cpop-up\u201d dark money groups to gather funding and built infrastructure to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2008\/10\/02\/colorado-democratic-scheme-called-ingenious\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">target<\/a> Republican incumbents. The approach worked in the 2008 elections, leading Democrats to eventual dominance in the state. <\/p>\n<p>The Democracy Alliance quickly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/1711244\/the-blue-state-blueprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dubbed<\/a> this approach the \u201cColorado Model\u201d and planned to expand it nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Stein, Democracy Alliance founder, predicted in his book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Blueprint-Adam-Schrager\/dp\/1936218003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>The Blueprint: How the Democrats Won Colorado<\/em><\/a>, that the left would find success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a warning shot to conservatives in America that if the Colorado Model is replicated elsewhere, conservatives have nothing comparable to possibly compete with it, and they had better watch out,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Stein may have a point. If left-wing groups like those in FCCP successfully reshape the elections environment, the right will not reach any substantial victory. Conservatives should push for policies holding public officials accountable to the people, keeping left-wing influence groups far from the levers of power. But these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dark-money-fuels-push-to-ditch-filibuster\/\" title=\"Dark Money Fuels Push to Ditch Filibuster\">dark money networks<\/a> are not going away, so if the right hopes to compete, it must create an infrastructure to rival that of the left. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey invested more money, but they invested it much more wisely. Instead of just chasing candidates, they built infrastructure,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/1711244\/the-blue-state-blueprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> Jon Caldara, president of the libertarian Denver-based think tank Independence Institute, to The Washington Examiner. \u201cRepublicans in Colorado continued to put their money on racehorses, while the left just bought the racetrack.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cc6e131b2fad02909d001d8eb060653b fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cc6e131b2fad02909d001d8eb060653b\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leaders of dark money groups met recently to strategize on left-wing victory and societal change.
