Carroll County \u2063Prosecutor \u200cNicholas \u200bMcLeland \u200dhas raised concerns about credibility issues in \u200cthe ex-chief&#8217;s personnel files,\u2062 influencing the defense&#8217;s theory. The investigation\u200b centers on\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/eleven-suspects-captured-after-moscow-area-terror-attack-kills-133\/\" title=\"Authorities have apprehended 11 suspects following a deadly terror attack in the Moscow area that claimed 133 lives\">individuals potentially linked<\/a> to \u200dthe crime.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The man prosecuting Richard Allen for the murders of two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana, back in 2017 is now investigating a former police chief who investigated alternate suspects for the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland filed a motion on Tuesday indicating he believes that former Rushville Police Chief Todd Click\u2019s personnel files will present credibility questions and discredit his theory of the murders of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German, the Journal &#038; Courier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jconline.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2024\/04\/23\/delphi-prosecutor-targets-ex-rushville-chief-todd-glick-investigation-odinist-richard-allen\/73424767007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. Click\u2019s investigation forms the basis of Allen\u2019s defense, pointing to alternate suspects the defense team believes actually committed the crime.<\/p>\n<p>McLeland is looking to obtain Click\u2019s employee records, implying they will show Click has a history of credibility issues. His motion includes a subpoena for Rushville\u2019s current police chief to hand over the records, but so far, Special Judge Fran Gull has not signed the subpoena.<\/p>\n<p>Click\u2019s investigation focused on three individuals who may have been involved in the teens\u2019 murders, including one man who allegedly told his sister that he was at the crime scene and described details not released to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Click\u2019s investigation was summarized in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/attorneys-for-delphi-murder-suspect-claim-young-teens-were-killed-by-white-nationalist-pagan-group-in-ritual-sacrifice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">136-page memorandum<\/a> filed by Allen\u2019s attorneys in September, which argues the three men were Odinists, a pagan Norse religion taken over by white nationalists.<\/p>\n<p>While such a claim sounds outrageous,\u00a0Click was so concerned about the information used to arrest Allen that he obtained an attorney to help him draft a letter to McLeland. This letter was only shared with defense attorneys after it became clear they would most likely talk to Click \u2013 more than four months after the letter was sent to the prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to not turning over the letter, law enforcement also allegedly withheld an 85-page compilation of reports from Click and the other officers who investigated the white supremacist angle and several videotaped statements that all supported Allen\u2019s innocence.<\/p>\n<p>Through Click\u2019s investigation, names of alternate suspects were given to Delphi law enforcement no later than February 2018, the attorneys wrote in September.<\/p>\n<p>The defense attorneys pointed to members of the cult as alleged suspects, whom The Daily Wire will not be naming since they have not been charged with any crimes. One of these named individuals\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media<\/a> posts contained images that mimicked the runes found at the crime scene, even though such images have never been released to the public, according to the defense. The individual allegedly also posted numerous \u201ceaster eggs\u201d on social media that pointed to his involvement in the crime, including a recreation of the crime scene involving two women posing as dead with sticks over their bodies, just like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/live-impeachment-updates-house-reconvenes-to-debate-trump-impeachment\/\" title=\"Live impeachment updates: House reconvenes to debate Trump impeachment\">actual crime scene<\/a>. This same individual also seemingly taunted police on social media, the defense claims.<\/p>\n<p>One further tie to the victims is that this man\u2019s son was allegedly \u201cdating\u201d the young victim, Abby.<\/p>\n<p>Police cleared this individual as a suspect within 30 days of the murders, even with this evidence, the defense argues.<\/p>\n<p>This individual\u2019s ex-wife also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/student-claims-she-is-victim-of-hate-crimes-including-a-fire-video-shows-she-set-the-fire\/\" title=\"Student Claims She Is Victim Of Hate Crimes, Including A Fire. Video Shows She Set The Fire.\">allegedly told police<\/a> that he and another man in the Odinists had a falling out in February 2017 after conducting a ritual in the woods, near a river. The main alternate suspect lived very near to where the girls\u2019 bodies were found, according to the defense\u2019s filing. One of these individuals allegedly told his sister that he was involved in the crime and included details of the crime scene that were never released to the public. According to the court documents, this man was also questioned but denied involvement. According to a state trooper who dropped him off at his home, this individual allegedly returned to the trooper\u2019s vehicle and asked if he would still be in trouble if his spit was found on one of the victims, saying he could explain it away.
