The House speaker said that &#8220;no American should have to live under those kinds of threats.&#8221;\t<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Mike Lawler (R., N.Y.) called for the resignation of Columbia University president Minouche Shafik, saying &#8220;she has lost control&#8221; of the institution and &#8220;has no intention of getting the university under control.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Shafik has faced backlash since her congressional testimony last week for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/watch-columbia-presidents-commitment-to-tackle-anti-semitism-falls-short\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/watch-columbia-presidents-commitment-to-tackle-anti-semitism-falls-short\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\">falling short<\/a>\u00a0in combating anti-Semitism at the university.
