Four-year-old Cartier McDaniel was rushed to Children\u2019s Hospital Colorado in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-aurora-gunmans-family-we-deeply-apologize-for-shootings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aurora<\/a> after experiencing fatigue, chills, thirst and other symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>Within minutes, the situation deteriorated, and the boy was on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/u-s-marshal-shot-while-serving-arrest-warrant-in-baltimore\/\" title=\"U.S. Marshal shot while serving arrest warrant in Baltimore\">life support<\/a> after his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/surfing-champ-dead-at-24\/\" title=\"Surfing Champ Dead At 24\">heart stopped beating<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A case of Strep A turned into sepsis, the child\u2019s doctor explained.<\/p>\n<p>With CPR ineffective, doctors put the 4-year-old on a type of life support called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.<\/p>\n<p>ECMO machines can keep a person\u2019s blood oxygenated even when their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-derek-chauvin-trial-coverage-to-ninth-day\/\" title=\"The Derek Chauvin Trial \u2013 Coverage to Ninth Day\">heart stops beating<\/a> and their lungs seize up. They are similar to machines used during lengthy open-heart surgeries, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yalemedicine.org\/conditions\/ecmo#:~:text=But%20unlike%20a%20heart%2Dlung,to%20heal%20and%20regain%20function.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yale Medicine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of McDaniel, his heart sat still for 13 hours while the ECMO machine kept him alive.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Aline Maddux, who worked to save the boy, explained to KDVR, \u201cHis heart stopped beating. We tried to revive it, and there was fear that he might not survive this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maddux added, \u201cThe longer the time period the heart isn\u2019t beating, the more concerned we are that it\u2019s not going to restart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7-lgw2lnj5g?si=zV3sVM34fuPtG4P4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>McDaniel\u2019s mother, Destiny Anderson, feared for the worst, she told KDVR. Meanwhile, the boy\u2019s father Dominique McDaniel said he turned to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/missouri-teen-kaylee-gain-makes-shocking-recovery-brutal-fight-left-coma-power-prayer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prayer<\/a> as the family prepared to say goodbye to a child whose life had yet to truly begin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s time to go talk to God. It\u2019s time to talk to the man upstairs,\u201d Dominique McDaniel told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nba-champion-denver-nuggets-cancel-planned-trip-biden-white-house-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Denver<\/a> Fox affiliate. \u201cLet them see who you are. Jesus, come now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then, something even Dr. Maddox couldn\u2019t explain happened: Cartier\u2019s heart started beating again after 14 hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis heart just restarted,\u201d the physician said. \u201cThat was really an incredible thing that occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anderson said when her little boy\u2019s heart restarted she expected grim news but was instead informed of the wonderful reality that her little boy\u2019s heart was beating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody else was jumping up and screaming and everything,\u201d she said. \u201cI just still couldn\u2019t process what was going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dominique McDaniel told KDVR that his son was saved by prayer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGod got the last say-so,\u201d the faithful father told the station. \u201cI know that God is real. \u2026 I\u2019m a firm believer in Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cartier McDaniel is not out of the woods quite yet, so his parents are asking for continued prayers.<\/p>\n<p>But the prognosis is positive, even if it means he might have to spend the next few weeks or months <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/devout-christian-mlb-legend-darryl-strawberry-hospitalized-medical-emergency-still-glorifies-god\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hospitalized<\/a> while he regains his strength.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
