All have pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and former personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, were also identified as unindicted co-conspirators, which is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ojp.gov\/ncjrs\/virtual-library\/abstracts\/sidestepping-due-process-federal-grand-juries-and-unindicted-co#:~:text=Unlike%20those%20actually%20charged%20with,the%20offensive%20report%20or%20naming.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>title used<\/a> for someone who has been accused of a crime but not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wells-fargo-reaches-3-7-billion-settlement-with-federal-regulators-for-mistreating-customers\/\" title=\"Wells Fargo Reaches .7 Billion Settlement With Federal Regulators for Mistreating Customers\">legally charged<\/a>. Howard Shock, a special agent for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-dean-msm-coverage-of-cuomo-was-puff-pieces-while-there-were-bodybags-piling-up\/\" title=\"FNC's Dean: MSM Coverage of Cuomo Was 'Puff Pieces' While 'There Were Bodybags Piling up'\">attorney general\u2019<\/a>s office, revealed the names Wednesday, saying the investigation was still open against 15 of the defendants.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the number of defendants involved, the pretrial hearings were divided into two by Judge Kristen Simmons. The hearings for the first group of defendants concluded Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the defendants have expressed their anger at the Republican Party, believing they were misled. Nessel dropped her charges against James Renner, as part of a cooperation agreement. Renner shared that he realized that he and the other electors acted improperly after reviewing House testimony on the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t overemphasize how, once I read the information in the J6 transcripts, how upset I was that the legitimate process had not been followed,\u201d Renner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/04\/24\/us\/trump-michigan-election-interference.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> in the interview, according to an audio recording obtained by the <em>New York Times<\/em>. \u201cI felt that I had been walked into a situation that I shouldn\u2019t have ever been involved in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During Tuesday\u2019s hearing, George Donnini, a lawyer for defendant Kathy Berden, keyed in on the role of former Trump campaign worker Mike Roman, who was also identified as an unindicted co-conspirator. Emails and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/text-messages-reveal-what-cassidy-hutchinson-really-thought-of-the-january-6th-committee-report\/\" title=\"Text Messages Reveal What Cassidy Hutchinson Really Thought Of The January 6th Committee: Report\">text messages reportedly revealed<\/a> that Roman had played an instrumental role in putting forward slates of fake electors in swing states.<\/p>\n<p>Roman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2816430\/who-is-mike-roman-trump-defendant-raised-fani-willis-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>faces charges<\/a> in Georgia including racketeering conspiracy and conspiracies to commit forgery, to impersonate a public officer, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/4th-trump-indictment-sparks-partisan-reactions\/\" title=\"4th Trump Indictment Ignites Partisan Responses\">commit false statements<\/a>, and to file false documents in the Fulton County racketeering case.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations and prosecutions related to phony electors are occurring across five swing states. In Georgia, charges have been brought against Trump, Meadows, Giuliani, Roman, and more than a dozen others. Nevada is focusing its efforts on charging fake electors, and charges are expected soon in Arizona.
