Yet he was not charged because <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/12\/hur-biden-white-house-pressured-me-to-change-my-report-findings\/\">prosecutors<\/a> say they believed he would \u201cpresent himself to the jury, as he did during our interview with him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here are the three most shocking revelations in the lawfare case against Trump thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-jeffrey-epstein-and-ghislaine-maxwell-allegations-unsealed\/\" title=\"More Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell Allegations Unsealed\">newly unsealed documents<\/a>, in part as pointed out by independent reporter Julie Kelly on X. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. DOJ Allegedly Threatened Lawyer\u2019s Judicial Nomination<\/h2>\n<p>Jay Bratt, the special counsel\u2019s lead prosecutor, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/05\/if-alleged-doj-misconduct-is-true-a-district-judge-could-dismiss-the-whole-case-against-trump\/\">allegedly threatened<\/a> Trump staff member Walt Nauta\u2019s attorney, Stanley Woodward, with sabotaging his judicial nomination to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia if he could not get Nauta to turn on Trump, according to a newly unsealed motion originally filed in June 2023. Nauta served in Trump\u2019s White House and remained a personal aide to the president after he left office. <\/p>\n<p>The motion requested D.C. District Chief Judge James Boasberg order the \u201cdisclosure of certain grand jury materials identified by counsel as likely to reflect misconduct by the government before the grand jury.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f12c425c8148b0e4b55c245661d7d0ce fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f12c425c8148b0e4b55c245661d7d0ce\"><\/div>\n<p>During Woodward and Bratt\u2019s first meeting, which took place two weeks after Mar-a-Lago was raided on August 24, 2022, Woodward \u201cwas led to a conference room where Mr. Bratt awaited with what appeared to be a folder containing information about Mr. Woodward,\u201d according to the motion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Bratt thereupon told Mr. Woodward he didn\u2019t consider him to be a \u2018Trump lawyer,\u2019 and he further said that he was aware that Mr. Woodward had been recommended to President Biden for an appointment to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia,\u201d the motion continues. \u201cMr. Bratt followed up with words to the effect of \u2018I wouldn\u2019t want you to do anything to mess that up.\u2019 Thereafter, Mr. Bratt advised Mr. Woodward that \u2018one way or the other\u2019 his client, Walt Nauta, would be giving up his lavish lifestyle of \u2018private planes and golf clubs\u2019 and he encouraged Mr. Woodward to persuade Mr. Nauta to cooperate with the government\u2019s investigation (this was prior to the appointment of the Special Counsel).\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The motion argues Bratt\u2019s \u201cstatement suggested a <em>quid pro quo <\/em>or even a threat intended to cause Mr. Woodward to persuade his client to cooperate with Mr. Bratt\u2026Under such circumstances, it is appropriate for the Court to ease the secrecy protections typically afforded by Rule 6(e) so that it may determine if similar egregious behavior has made its way into this unprecedented investigation, particularly regarding the testimony of Mr. Nauta.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"5SjpDs9M\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Judge Cannon is on an unsealing binge.<\/p>\n<p>Unsealed records detail allegations that Jay Bratt, Jack Smith&#8217;s lead prosecutor in classified docs case, threatened Stanley Woodward\u2013atty for Walt Nauta\u2013with sinking a judicial nomination if he didn&#8217;t get his client to flip on Trump: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/X8aTyOB5PK\">pic.twitter.com\/X8aTyOB5PK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Julie Kelly \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@julie_kelly2) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1783124837445091785?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 24, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The DOJ described the incident as follows: \u201cBratt also informed Woodward that the Government was interested in obtaining Nauta\u2019s potential cooperation and resolving his situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-eb28930862d56d4087317b4e379e35d1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-eb28930862d56d4087317b4e379e35d1\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAt no point during the meeting did Woodward suggest that any of the prosecutors\u2019 comments were improper,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652\/gov.uscourts.flsd.648652.115.0.pdf\">DOJ<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1783126137150828731\">argued<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Woodward and his partner stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/24601804\/woodward-brief.pdf\">letter<\/a> to Boasberg that their \u201crepresentation of Mr. Nauta was not adversely impacted\u201d by the alleged discussion and that they had not \u201ccomplained about the statements in the August 24 meeting\u201d but were bringing it to light after learning \u201cthe conduct exhibited in the August 24 meeting may not have been isolated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith also said the allegations were referred to the DOJ\u2019s Office of Professional Responsibility at Bratt\u2019s request before lamenting that the defense dared to accuse a government official of threatening a private citizen\u2019s lawyer. Smith said it was \u201cwholly without merit\u201d for the defense to allege that Bratt \u2014 whom Smith noted had three decades worth of experience \u2014 would threaten Woodward with retaliation. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. White House Allegedly Involved From The Start<\/h2>\n<p>Following Trump\u2019s departure from office, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) began \u201cto work with the White House Office of Records Management on exaggerated claims related to records handling under the Presidential Records Act (PRA),\u201d a <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/24362710\/trump-motion-to-compel-discovery-florida-case.pdf\">motion to compel discovery <\/a>from Trump\u2019s attorney\u2019s states.<\/p>\n<p>NARA General Counsel Gary Stern sent a letter to Trump\u2019s PRA \u201crepresentatives\u201d in May of 2021 in which he said he \u201chad several conversations\u201d with the White House\u2019s Office of Records Management and had raised some \u201cconcerns,\u201d presumably about the documents in question, with NARA Archivist David Ferriero, according to pictures of the new, less-redacted <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1782486128915857520\">filing posted<\/a> by Kelly.<\/p>\n<p>Stern\u2019s letter noted that \u201cthings were very chaotic, as they always are in the course of a one-term transition\u201d and acknowledged transferring the documents would take \u201cseveral more months,\u201d according to the filing. Ferriero, however, said in June 2021 he was \u201cout of patience,\u201d dismissing \u201cgood-faith efforts by President Trump\u2019s PRA representatives to address issues raised by NARA,\u201d according to the filing. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">  https:\/\/twitter.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1782488864562565149 <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The filing alleges Ferriero then \u201cthreatened\u201d one of Trump\u2019s PRA representatives in August that he was presuming that 24 \u201calleged \u2014 and non-existent\u201d boxes of records were \u201cdestroyed\u201d and that Ferriero would report his claims of missing documents to the White House and Department of Justice. <\/p>\n<p>By September, Stern was sending around a letter \u201cthat we could consider sending to the Attorney General about missing Trump records,\u201d according to the filing. Stern also sent an email admitting he \u201cinformally reached out to the DOJ counsel about this issue\u201d and that \u201cWH counsel is now also aware of the issue, and has asked that I keep them in the loop to the extent that we make any reference to [WH-ORM],\u201d according to the filing. <\/p>\n<p>The filing alleges that Deputy White House Counsel Jonathan Su asked one of Trump\u2019s PRA representatives to permit an undisclosed individual to access \u201cnotes from the Trump administration relating to records handling.\u201d The filing alleges that Su did not disclose that NARA \u201chad already drafted a referral letter and contacted DOJ.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.
