The issue resurfaced \u200dwhen Manhattan prosecutors\u2063 alleged Trump breached the order by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-did-u-s-made-weapon-end-up-in-cartels-hands\/\" title=\"US weapon in cartels' possession - how?\">sharing news articles<\/a>\u2063 on\u2063 Truth\u2063 Social.\u2062 York\u2063 highlighted\u200c the disparity\u200b as Michael Cohen, \u200bTrump&#8217;s ex-attorney, freely criticizes Trump\u2063 across various platforms while Trump is restricted from responding.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner\u2019s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/author\/byron-york\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Byron York<\/a> argued Wednesday that there are several problems with former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> gag order, specifically how Trump cannot be critical of his former lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>The gag order in question has been brought back to discussion in part because <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york-city\">Manhattan<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kevin-clinesmith-altered-an-email-in-the-trump-russia-probe-to-keep-it-going-he-just-received-probation\/\" title=\"Kevin Clinesmith Altered An Email In The Trump-Russia Probe To Keep It Going. He Just Received Probation.\">prosecutors argued<\/a> Trump violated the order in the hush <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>money<\/a> case more than 10 times when he posted various news articles on Truth Social. York, the chief political correspondent for the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>, explained that these articles had been about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/michael-cohen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Michael Cohen<\/a>, Trump\u2019s former attorney, and that Trump is being reported for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trial-prosecutors-unveil-plans-to-cross-examine-trump-in-hush-money-case\/\" title=\"Trump trial: Prosecutors to question Trump in hush money case\">gag order violations<\/a> while Cohen has been very vocal about Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s on television a lot, he has podcasts, he\u2019s written books, he wrote a book called <em>Revenge<\/em> about Trump, and Michael Cohen is beating on Trump every single day on his X feed, everywhere else, and yet Trump is actually banned from saying anything about Michael Cohen,\u201d York said on Fox Business\u2019s <em>Mornings with Maria Bartiromo<\/em>.\u00a0\u201cIt really doesn\u2019t make a lot of sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>York also addressed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2024\/04\/23\/anti-trump-legal-pundits-calls-00153300\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>a recent report<\/a> that revealed the existence of a weekly Zoom call where various legal analysts, lawyers, and pundits discussed how they would \u201cget Trump.\u201d He also noted how the discussion about Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trumps-criminal-hush-money-trial-set-for-march-25\/\" title=\"Trump's hush money trial scheduled for March 25\">hush money trial<\/a> is starting to change and how the criminal charges in this trial revolve around bookkeeping.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, they\u2019re now reframing it, the prosecution is doing it, and the talking heads are doing it, as a conspiracy to interfere with the 2016 election,\u201d York said. \u201cNow, Trump is not charged with conspiracy; he\u2019s not charged with interfering with the election. There are these suggestions that he must have done something else unlawful here, but it\u2019s never been specified what that is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>York continued that many people covering Trump\u2019s legal battles appear to be saying \u201cthe same thing,\u201d noting how the new report states that analysts are meeting weekly \u201cto get their talking points together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Judge Juan Merchan stated Tuesday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/2975445\/judge-declines-to-rule-immediately-on-whether-trump-reposts-violated-gag-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>he would \u201creserve\u201d his decision<\/a> on whether to fine Trump over his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trial-judge-to-decide-if-former-president-violated-gag-order\/\" title=\"Judge to Determine if Trump Breached Gag Order in Trial\">alleged gag order violations<\/a> in the hush money trial. The prosecutors argued that his alleged violations should have resulted in at least $10,000 in fees. <\/p>\n<p>Defense attorney Todd Blanche admitted that some of Trump\u2019s reposts got \u201ctoo close to the line\u201d but did not violate his gag order.
