It was ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/articles\/the-collapse-of-bipartisan-immigration-reform-a-guide-for-the-perplexed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected by Republicans<\/a> over concerns that it would simply provide amnesty for illegals already in the country while doing little to stem the flow across the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s one thing this bill does not do: Border security. You know, just this year, I proposed and negotiated and agreed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-gov-hochul-announces-thousands-of-jobs-available-statewide-for-migrants\/\" title=\"NY Gov.
