The majority of Americans feel pessimistic about the economy&#8217;s \u2062trajectory, with 70%\u200d expressing concern. Additionally, inflation\u200b worries persist, with 54% anticipating a worsening \u2064situation by year-end. The economy&#8217;s importance in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/outright-auditions-playing-out-as-vice-president-hopefuls-try-to-co-star-on-trump-2024-ticket\/\" title=\"VP hopefuls audition for co-starring role on Trump's 2024 ticket\">presidential selection process<\/a> is emphasized by 82% of respondents.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in six out of seven key swing states as Americans believe the economy is going in the wrong direction, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-04-24\/biden-trails-trump-in-6-of-7-key-states-poll-shows-election-2024?leadSource=uverify%20wall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">according<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to a new Bloomberg News\/Morning Consult poll.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/pro-assets.morningconsult.com\/wp-uploads\/2024\/04\/Bloomberg_2024-Election-Tracking-Wave-7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> of nearly 5,000 registered voters found that Trump leads Biden in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/9-key-points-from-trump-campaign-press-conference-on-challenges-to-election-results\/\" title=\"9 Key Points from Trump Campaign Press Conference on Challenges to Election Results\">key states<\/a> like Arizona (49-42), Georgia (49-43), Nevada (51-43), North Carolina (51-41), Pennsylvania (47-46), and Wisconsin (48-44), while Biden tops Trump in Michigan (47-45). The majority of those polled had a negative view of the economy\u2019s direction, with many believing it would only get worse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the poll, 70% of those surveyed believed the economy was going in the wrong direction, while 30% said it was going the right way. When asked how important the economy would be in determining who they pick for president, 82% said it would be \u201cvery important,\u201d while 14% said it would be \u201csomewhat important.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Americans also believe that inflation is worsening, with 54% saying they expected it to intensify by the end of the year and 17% saying they believed it would improve. Inflation has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bidenflation-number-of-americans-growing-food-at-home-soars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remained high<\/a> during the Biden presidency, with customers paying elevated prices for staples like food and gas. A political action committee backing Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-pac-launches-interactive-website-to-show-how-food-prices-have-skyrocketed-under-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched<\/a> a \u201cBiden-mart\u201d website last month highlighting the dramatic increase in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-trump-economist-steve-moore-were-looking-at-4-to-5-percent-inflation-rate\/\" title=\"Ex-Trump Economist Steve Moore: We're Looking at 4 to 5 Percent Inflation Rate\">food prices<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSome of the shine of the State of the Union address has worn off,\u201d Matt Monday, senior manager of Morning Consult, said. \u201cPeople are really tying \u2018Bidenomics\u2019 and their perception of the economy to the inflation rate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">More than half of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/survey-nearly-half-of-voters-oppose-facebooks-trump-ban\/\" title=\"Survey: Nearly Half Of Voters Oppose Facebook\u2019s Trump Ban\">voters surveyed<\/a> (51%) said they trusted Trump more with the economy than Biden (36%), while 13% said neither. 46% of voters also said they trusted Trump more on the issue of good jobs than Biden (38%). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By far, the economy ranked as the number one issue for voters polled, with 34% saying it would be their top issue in the presidential election. The only other top issue that polled in the double digits was immigration at 15%, while abortion, a top issue for the Biden campaign, came in at 9%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Neither Biden nor Trump had a majority of voters who viewed them favorably. While 56% said they had an unfavorable or somewhat unfavorable view of Biden, just 41% said they had a favorable or somewhat favorable view of the president.
