While previously focused on TV ratings and \u2062cable news during his \u200cpresidency, Trump now includes blog posts and browsing\u200b on Truth Social in his media diet. Despite his fluctuating relationship\u200b with Fox News, he still follows select shows and personalities.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> has been a harsh critic of the legacy media, standing against what he has dubbed \u201cfake news.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Now, as he launches his third presidential campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2024\/04\/24\/donald-trump-news-consumption-00153477?nname=playbook&#038;nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b7bd0000&#038;nrid=849aba7f-f4d5-44d1-8dff-3ca5fb878b65&#038;nlid=630318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>his media diet<\/a> has changed from when he first ran for president in 2016. During his presidency, Trump was actively watching the media by keeping up with TV ratings and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/only-22-of-cable-news-is-news-study\/\" title=\"Only 22% of Cable \u2018News\u2019 is News: Study\">cable news coverage<\/a>. Now, he does the same but has widened his content to include more blog posts and scrolling on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/social-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Once a staunch supporter of the organization, Trump has gone back and forth with Fox News. He watches Fox News Business\u2019 Mornings with Maria, hosted by Maria Bartiromo and Fox &#038; Friends, according to <em>Politico<\/em>. He also enjoys Jesse Walters and his friend Sean Hannity\u2019s evening shows. <\/p>\n<p>He has, however, been critical of the network, notably Steve Doocy, a morning host. Trump has called Doocy a \u201cRINO,\u201d or Republican In Name Only, and <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/111784781463325136\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> he makes the morning show \u201cunwatchable.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>On air, Doocy has challenged some of what his co-hosts say, notably about the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSteve Doocy\u2019s been terrible. I mean, to me he\u2019s been just terrible. I think he\u2019s hurting the show,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/trump\/trump-tears-into-terrible-fox-friends-host-steve-doocy-hes-not-nice-like-he-should-be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/01\/08\/tech\/trump-twitter-ban\/index.html#:~:text=Twitter%20has%20suspended%20President%20Trump,of%20violence%2C%E2%80%9D%20Twitter%20said.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>banned<\/a> from X following the Jan. 6 insurrection, Trump found a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/melania-trump-to-make-parler-her-social-media-home\/\" title=\"Melania Trump to Make Parler Her \u2018Social Media Home\u2019\">social media home<\/a> in his own site, Truth Social. There, he often scrolls through posts and stories from conservative outlets like the <em>Daily Caller, Washington Examiner, <\/em>the<em> Daily Mail, Fox News Digital, <\/em>and the<em> New York Post<\/em>. However, he reportedly still prefers reading news in print, and maintains subscriptions to the <em>New York Times<\/em> and<em> New York Post<\/em> at his Florida residence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConservative media, liberal media,\u201d a person close to Trump said. \u201cHe\u2019s very well read on what both sides are saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump also has specific journalists he enjoys, according to the outlet. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe likes[[<em>New York Times<\/em>]reporters Maggie [Haberman] and [Jonathan] Swan when they\u2019re good. He hates them when they\u2019re bad,\u201d one Trump official said.
