In apparent disgust, Davis then dropped the microphone on the table in front of him, stood up and walked away.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-nba-champ-goes-race-rant-says-journalist-isnt-black-media-praising-caitlin-clark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBA<\/a> TV posted a 16-second clip of the incident on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platform<\/a> X.<\/p>\n<p>In fairness to Davis, at the beginning of the clip a faint female voice said \u201clast question.\u201d The press conference, therefore, would have ended at that point one way or the other.<\/p>\n<p>It ended, however, with a foolish question framed in a characteristically servile manner as if calculated not to offend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you take us through that last play and just what happened, what unfolded. What was \u2014 I, I don\u2019t know if you were screened or what happened on that last play?\u201d the reporter asked, using 31 words where the last six would have sufficed.<\/p>\n<p>Then came Davis\u2019 irritated rejoinder about Murray\u2019s made shot.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Anthony Davis: \u201cJamal Murray made a shot.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jsiYMmSa8p\">pic.twitter.com\/jsiYMmSa8p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NBA TV (@NBATV) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NBATV\/status\/1782646943589507233?\">April 23, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you think the Lakers will get swept?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In light of how the game ended, Davis had good reason to feel frustrated.<\/p>\n<p>With the score tied at 97 and only 47.7 seconds remaining, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lebron-james-chases-ref-crushing-playoff-loss-vulgar-tantrum-press-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LeBron James<\/a> layup gave the Lakers a 2-point lead. The teams will face off again in Game 3 on Thursday in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/learned-nothing-fans-turn-ugly-lakers-teams-pride-night-post\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Davis had an outstanding Game 2 overall, finishing with 32 points on 14-of-19 shooting. He added 11 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>Murray, on the other hand, struggled for most of the night, finishing with 20 points on 9-of-24 shooting. In the game\u2019s final 30 seconds, however, he made both of his high-pressure attempts.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, both Davis and Murray starred for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/big-move-legendary-head-coach-john-calipari-reportedly-ditching-kentucky-another-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Kentucky Wildcats<\/a>, though not as teammates.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/davisan02.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Davis<\/a> won the 2011-12 NCAA championship with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/schools\/kentucky\/men\/2012.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wildcats<\/a> and then immediately jumped to the NBA, where he has averaged 24.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game during an illustrious career that includes a 2020 NBA championship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/murraja01.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Murray<\/a>, meanwhile, entered the league in 2016 and developed into a consistent perimeter scorer, as well as facilitator. Notably, his assists-per-game have either remained steady or improved every year of his career. And he finished as the second-leading scorer for the 2022-23 NBA champion Nuggets.<\/p>\n<p>Davis, of course, was in no mood to reminisce \u2014 or to talk about much of anything \u2014 after his fellow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/riley-gaines-others-launch-lawsuit-ncaa-woke-policies-spread\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former Wildcat\u2019s<\/a> game-winning performance on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, at no point during his four-minute post-game interview did Davis warm up to the tedious task of answering reporters\u2019 questions.<\/p>\n<p>Readers may view that full interview below. Note that at the 3:26 mark a female voice said \u201clast two,\u201d meaning that only two questions remained. Davis, therefore, knew that he only had to endure two more questions before the press conference mercifully ended. He did not cut it short in frustration.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YtIJ4KwFwxA?si=J-eD1y_U6W0Gimb6\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On the whole, without making mountains of molehills, the press conference hardly represented the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nba-countdowns-kevin-perkins-torn-pieces-fans-ridiculous-heat-celtics-take-100-stupid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBA<\/a> or humanity at its best.<\/p>\n<p>Davis, for one thing, could barely hide his contempt for the reporters. He no doubt felt disappointed after the loss, and he might have felt irritated by the same old postgame questions. Still, while generally civil, he made no effort to give the reporters anything that would help them do their jobs. It seemed he could not be bothered.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the reporter who asked the verbose and truckling \u201cwhat happened, what unfolded\u201d question about Murray\u2019s game-winning shot should have known that Davis would regard such a question, framed in such a way, as foolish \u2014 particularly in light of the fact that nothing unusual occurred on the final play.<\/p>\n<p>As Davis said, Murray made a shot.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
