The <em>Associated Press<\/em> called the races for both primaries at 8:01 p.m.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Sen. Pat Toomey\u2019s seat and see McCormick as the best chance for victory.<\/p>\n<p>The Koch brothers-aligned super PAC, Americans for Prosperity Action, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/koch-network-group-works-engage-voters-early-key-senate-race-rcna148868\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>begun knocking on doors<\/a> in Pennsylvania on behalf of McCormick. The group\u2019s goal is to have knocked on 1 million doors before the race is over. <\/p>\n<p>Yet Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who defeated Oz in 2022, defended Casey\u2019s reelection bid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBob Casey is going to beat him, and I [don\u2019t think there\u2019s going to be] a poll \u2014 reputable, that\u2019s important \u2014 that touches him within 3 points because everybody understands he\u2019s from Connecticut,\u201d Fetterman told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> of McCormick\u2019s chances of winning.<\/p>\n<p>McCormick does have a home in Connecticut and owns a home in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe does have some Pennsylvania roots, but he lives in Connecticut, and Trump actually despised him,\u201d Fetterman continued. \u201cAnd they\u2019re trying to pretend that they get along and everything, and red county Pennsylvania smells that, and he\u2019s gonna come up short.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump endorsed McCormick\u2019s 2024 Senate bid earlier this month during a rally in the Keystone State. <\/p>\n<p>It comes after Trump endorsed Oz in 2022 and blasted McCormick during the GOP primary. <\/p>\n<p><em>David Sivak contributed to this story.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) and GOP challenger David McCormick will battle in November for a pivotal Senate seat.
