Their cyber operations infected more\u2064 than\u2064 200,000 devices\u200b from\u2064 2016 to \u200b2021,\u200c with the\u200b success of \u200btheir attacks yet\u2062 to be revealed.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Iranian men<\/a> were charged by prosecutors on Tuesday for allegedly orchestrating a hacking campaign that targeted U.S. federal agencies and more than 12 defense contractors handling classified information. <\/p>\n<p>The men are accused of being affiliated with Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as they focused their attacks on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/state-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>State<\/a> and Treasury departments, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/justice-department-announces-charges-against-four-iranian-nationals-multi-year-cyber\">indictment<\/a> unsealed in the Southern District of New York. It is not clear if the men were successful in their attacks against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/treasury-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Treasury<\/a> and State departments. Three of the men are accused of working for a front company in Iran in the guise of offering cybersecurity services.
