Dr. Cass, a pediatrician, expressed frustration over disinformation and abusive emails received post-report publication. The\u2062 pediatrician laments the disinformation and abuse she faced \u200dpost-report release.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hilary Cass, who authored the long-awaited British report criticizing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/transgender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transgender<\/a> medical procedures for children, said she is not taking public transportation due to safety concerns.<\/p>\n<p>The Cass Review was <a href=\"https:\/\/cass.independent-review.uk\/home\/publications\/final-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released<\/a> earlier this month. It is the result of a major independent <a href=\"https:\/\/cass.independent-review.uk\/publications\/interim-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">review<\/a> on children and gender identity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/commissioning\/spec-services\/npc-crg\/gender-dysphoria-clinical-programme\/implementing-advice-from-the-cass-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commissioned<\/a> by Britain\u2019s National Health Service (NHS) in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Cass herself is a pediatrician and former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reality is that we have no good evidence on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/restless-anal-syndrome-new-study-finds-horror-side-effect-of-contracting-covid-19\/\" title=\"\u2018Restless Anal Syndrome\u2019: New Study Finds Horror Side-Effect Of Contracting COVID-19\">long-term outcomes<\/a> of interventions to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/researcher-debunks-claim-trans-youths-mental-health-improves-with-gender-affirming-care\/\" title=\"Researcher Debunks Claim Trans Youth\u2019s Mental Health Improves With \u2018Gender Affirming\u2019 Care\">manage gender-related distress<\/a>,\u201d Cass stated in her report.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/hilary-cass-i-cant-travel-on-public-transport-any-more-35pt0mvnh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with The Times of London published Friday, Cass, 66, said she has received \u201cvile\u201d abusive emails and been warned to stay away from public transportation in the wake of her report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are some pretty vile emails coming in at the moment. Most of which my team is protecting me from, so I\u2019m not getting to see them,\u201d she told the paper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going on public transport at the moment, following security advice, which is inconvenient,\u201d Cass said.<\/p>\n<p>What bothers her more, however, is the \u201cdisinformation\u201d surrounding her report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been really frustrated by the criticisms, because it is straight disinformation. It is completely inaccurate,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat dismays me is just how childish the debate can become. If I don\u2019t agree with somebody then I\u2019m called transphobic or a TERF [trans-exclusionary radical feminist].\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">Just before the Cass Review came out, accusations circulated that the report had wrongly excluded dozens of transgender studies, a claim Cass said is false.<\/p>\n<p>Labour MP Dawn Butler claimed there were about 100 studies that were not included in the Cass Review, and \u201cwe need to know why.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t get up in parliament with an intent to spread misinformation,\u201d Cass said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you deliberately try to undermine a report that has looked at the evidence of children\u2019s healthcare, then that\u2019s unforgivable. You are putting children at risk by doing that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether the attacks bother her, Cass said, \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive__Paragraph-sc-1pktst5-0 gaEeqC\">\u201cIt\u2019s personal, but these people don\u2019t know me,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m much, much more upset and frustrated about all this disinformation than I am about the abuse. The thing that makes me seethe is the misinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cass\u2019 much anticipated report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/weak-evidence-britains-nhs-to-review-all-transgender-treatment-after-major-report\">sharply criticized<\/a> the transgender medicine industry targeting youth, saying the evidence for gender medicine is built on \u201cshaky foundations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cross-sex hormones \u2014 estrogen and testosterone \u2014 should be prescribed to trans-identifying 16 and 17-year-olds only with an \u201cextremely cautious\u201d approach, and there should be a \u201cclear clinical rationale\u201d for not waiting until the teen is 18, the report says.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting would preserve fertility and manage any other conditions.
