The\u2064 defense \u200dcountered, highlighting that many alleged breaches were simply reposts of news content on social \u200dplatforms.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>NEW YORK \u2014 <\/strong>Judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/2958873\/read-questions-prospective-trump-jurors-answer-before-theyre-selected-hush-money-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Juan Merchan<\/a> on Tuesday said he would \u201creserve\u201d his decision on whether to fine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trial-judge-to-decide-if-former-president-violated-gag-order\/\" title=\"Judge to Determine if Trump Breached Gag Order in Trial\">alleged gag order violations<\/a> in the former president\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/2963573\/what-to-know-about-jury-selection-ahead-of-trump-hush-money-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hush money trial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manhattan<\/a> prosecutors said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trump<\/a> had violated the gag order in the hush money case more than 10 times, arguing that his violations amount to a \u201cvery real threat\u201d that should result in at least $10,000 in fees. Much of the defense\u2019s rebuttal Tuesday morning focused on the fact that many of the Trump posts in question were merely \u201creposts\u201d of news articles on social media.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cJudge, each of the 10 posts that I just handed the court\u201d violate the gag order, prosecutor Chris Conroy said.\u00a0Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the elected Democrat who brought the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/2974557\/trump-lawyers-unveil-hush-money-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"34-count indictment against Trump\">34-count indictment against Trump<\/a>, says the former president should be fined $1,000 for each violation.<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorney Todd Blanche conceded that some of Trump\u2019s reposts got \u201ctoo close to the line\u201d but were ultimately not a violation of the order. Blue\/The Washington Post via AP, Pool)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Conroy also argued to the court Tuesday that Trump had violated the gag order Monday \u201cright here in the hallway outside\u201d the courthouse after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trial-over-disqualification-of-trump-from-2024-colorado-ballot\/\" title=\"Trump's 2024 Colorado Ballot Disqualification Trial Concludes.\">opening arguments began<\/a> in the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant has violated this order repeatedly and hasn\u2019t stopped,\u201d Conroy added.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche countered Conroy\u2019s argument, saying \u201cThere was absolutely no willful violation of the gag order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump does, in fact, know what the gag order allows him to do and not allow him to do,\u201d Blanche said.<\/p>\n<p>Merchan placed the gag order on Trump because he said the former president has a history of making \u201cthreatening, inflammatory, denigrating\u201d comments against people at all levels of the justice system, including jurors.<\/p>\n<p>The order prevents Trump from making statements about attorneys, court staff members, or family members of prosecutors, lawyers, court staff members, and the Manhattan district attorney.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors were not in the courtroom for the gag order arguments and will return later Tuesday to hear more testimony from witnesses David Pecker, an ex-publisher of the <em>National Enquirer<\/em>, who allegedly helped broker a deal with porn star Stormy Daniels, which is at the core of the case.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump faces four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/waukesha-parade-attack-spotlights-the-danger-of-left-wing-prosecutors\/\" title=\"Waukesha Parade Attack Spotlights The Danger Of Left-Wing Prosecutors\">separate criminal cases<\/a> as he runs again for the presidency.
