Keep it going, no matter how intense the pressure becomes.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Michael Holder (@mholder06) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mholder06\/status\/1782434781868720396?\">April 22, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">THANK YOU! \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ryan Fournier (@RyanAFournier) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RyanAFournier\/status\/1782429906690875536?\">April 22, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Last week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-administrations-inexplicable-move-may-just-escalated-israel-iran-clash-way-nations-wanted-avoid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">administration of President Joe Biden<\/a> changed the text of decades-old Title IX law to shield men who claim to be women (and vice versa) under rules that were originally written to protect female students.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1972, a portion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/crt\/title-ix-education-amendments-1972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Title IX<\/a> has read:<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you agree with Angel Reese?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cNo person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance\u00a0\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Education Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-harvard-university-slapped-massive-lawsuit-alleging-civil-rights-violations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miguel Cardona<\/a> announced the changes to the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden\u2019s Title IX update stipulates protections from sex discrimination based gender identity for the first time,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/education\/2024\/04\/20\/biden-title-ix-rules-explained\/73385946007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A Department of Education <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.gov\/news\/press-releases\/us-department-education-releases-final-title-ix-regulations-providing-vital-protections-against-sex-discrimination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> on Friday noted the new rule \u201cprotects against discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The revisions \u2014 which take effect in August \u2014 do not specifically mention athletes claiming to be the opposite sex.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/bidens-new-title-ix-rules-protect-lgbtq-students-and-sexual-assault-victims-transgender-athletes-arent-mentioned\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PBS<\/a> suggested Biden had made a political calculation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe administration originally planned to include a new policy forbidding schools from enacting outright bans on transgender athletes, but that provision was put on hold,\u201d it said. \u201cThe delay is widely seen as a political maneuver during an election year in which Republicans have rallied around bans on transgender athletes in girls\u2019 sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/millions-watched-caitlin-clark-angel-reese-beating-average-viewers-nba-playoff-games-last-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reese<\/a> was referring to the change in Title IX, broadly commenting on men in women\u2019s sports or just sharing her view that sports are a positive outlet for girls and young women.<\/p>\n<p>But the timing of her statement was interesting, given <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/middle-school-girls-take-brave-stand-track-meet-adults-force-compete-transgender-opponent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">current events<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
