Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), and Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/alexandria-ocasio-cortez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> (D-NY), all three progressives and some of the loudest voices in Congress focusing on green energy. Heading into a tight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024<\/a> election against former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a>, Biden has seen support among young voters dip not only due to his handling of Israel\u2019s war in Gaza but also due to an apparent failure to deliver on other progressive policy promises he made on the 2020 campaign trail, including those on climate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis president is overseeing the single biggest federal investment in tackling the climate crisis in our nation\u2019s history,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said ahead of Biden\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>The president delivered his speech at the Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, Virginia, where he unveiled $7 billion in new grants for solar projects and urged young people to sign up for the American Climate Corps, a new program aimed at training enrollees for future work in climate and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/graham-if-democrats-call-witnesses-at-trial-we-will-call-democrats-thatve-used-inflammatory-language\/\" title=\"Graham: If Democrats Call Witnesses At Trial We Will Call Democrats That\u2019ve Used Inflammatory Language\">green energy jobs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, I learned a long time ago to listen to that lady,\u201d Biden said, referencing Ocasio-Cortez, the author of the progressive climate wish list known as the Green New Deal. \u201cToday\u2019s announcement builds upon an unprecedented historic action we\u2019ve already taken to tackle the climate crisis, to live environmental justice, and build a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-epa-pick-most-solar-energy-electric-vehicle-parts-come-from-china\/\" title=\"Biden EPA Pick: \u2018Most\u2019 Solar Energy, Electric Vehicle Parts \u2018Come From China\u2019\">clean energy future<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president additionally attacked his \u201cRepublican friends\u201d and others \u201cwho deny the climate is in crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not making it up. It\u2019s real. Just listen to what they say,\u201d he said. \u201cAnyone in or out of government who willfully denies the impacts of climate change is condemning the American people to a very dangerous future and the world, I might add. They want to take us backwards, sideline our workers, let China and others lead the race for clean energy.
