Stay informed and\u200b ready for the challenging weather ahead.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/%20\"><span>Jack Davis<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   April 22, 2024 at 11:23am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Severe weather could pound America\u2019s midsection this week, with a risk of thunderstorms and perhaps tornadoes.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.com\/storms\/tornado\/news\/2024-04-22-severe-weather-forecast-plains-midwest-south-late-april\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Weather Channel<\/a> said two rounds of damaging storms are coming \u2014 Thursday storms that will target Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Kansas, and a second storm Friday that will range as far south as Dallas and as far north as Des Moines, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA potential multiday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/n-j-declares-state-of-emergency-as-severe-winter-storm-brings-snow-and-high-winds\/\" title=\"N.J. declares state of emergency as severe winter storm brings snow and high winds\">severe weather<\/a> outbreak is possible across the central U.S. starting Thursday afternoon,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/severe-weather\/multi-day-severe-thunderstorm-tornado-risk-to-unfold-in-nations-midsection-beginning-later-this-week\/1642959\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AccuWeather<\/a> Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere could be multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms across this region and into the Midwest through next weekend,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe threat for severe weather is expected to begin later Thursday as warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico flows northward into the southern and central Plains. Meanwhile, upper-level energy in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/britons-urged-to-cancel-plans-not-leave-home-as-storm-batters-country\/\" title=\"Britons Urged to Cancel Plans, Not Leave Home as Storm Batters Country\">jet stream<\/a> will move out of the Rockies and Four Corners region and into the Plains,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Friday will bring a mix of high winds, damaging hail, torrential downpours and possibly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/50-million-americans-impacted-tornadoes-thunderstorms-may-one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tornadoes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The early part of the week will have a mix of thunderstorms, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/april-severe-weather-threat-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox Weather<\/a> said that on Thursday, the southern and central Plains are likely to face severe storm activity, focusing on central Nebraska, central Kansas, western Oklahoma and northwestern Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The Missouri Valley and Plains will get their turn on Friday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Are you in the path of these storms?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Saturday will bring a return of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/single-hail-storm-devastating-impact-major-texas-solar-farm-locals-concerned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">high risk<\/a> to parts of North Texas, Oklahoma and southern Kansas.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Spring severe weather season is kicking into high gear as another multiday severe weather threat appears likely across the Central U.S. this week.<\/p>\n<p>FOX Weather meteorologists <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrittaMerwinWX?\">@BrittaMerwinWX<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CraigHerreraTV?\">@CraigHerreraTV<\/a> have the latest. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/T2uysNiEdH\">pic.twitter.com\/T2uysNiEdH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 FOX Weather (@foxweather) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/foxweather\/status\/1782389326426390886?\">April 22, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-v-438398f6>Fox Weather noted that so far in April, tornado activity has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/miracle-tennessee-baby-whirled-away-tornado-destroys-home-ten-minutes-later-looked-tree-knew-god-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">above normal<\/a> with 184 reports this month.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6>\u201cThis past week really solidified us with above-average activity,\u201d Meteorologist Jane Minar said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd when you take a look at the month of April, where you typically see tornadic threats, it\u2019s more back off through the Plains.
