He criticized Attorney General Letitia James for \u2064challenging the \u2063credibility of his $175 million\u2062 bond, secured through an\u2062 auto industry \u2062billionaire&#8217;s subsidiary.\u200b Trump defended\u200c the bond, \u200cstating\u200d he has \u2063the means\u200d to cover it. His comments preceded his criminal trial in \u2064Manhattan, focusing on alleged concealment of payments to a porn star.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> spoke ahead of his hush money trial in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>New York<\/a> on Monday, but his remarks centered on a separate hearing taking place that morning, during which a judge will examine state Attorney General Letitia James\u2019s argument that the court should reject a bond Trump paid.<\/p>\n<p>Trump tore into James, an elected Democrat, for doubting the credibility of the $175 million bond, which Trump secured through a subsidiary of auto industry billionaire Don Hankey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bonding company would be good for it because I put up the money, and I have plenty of money to put up,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s remarks came just prior to the president attending his criminal trial in Manhattan, where attorneys were poised to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trial-tumultuous-day-in-court-ends-with-complete-bench-of-jurors\/\" title=\"Trump trial concludes with full jury\">deliver opening statements<\/a> about allegations that Trump concealed payments to a porn star in 2016 to help his election prospects.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Trump is also fighting a judgment issued by Judge Arthur Engoron in February that he pay $454 million in fines and interest after Engoron found Trump and Trump Organization executives liable for years of business fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has appealed the ruling, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-strikes-down-racial-gender-preferences-in-bidens-1-9-trillion-covid-relief-bill-that-discriminated-against-restaurant-owners\/\" title=\"Court Strikes Down Racial, Gender Preferences In Biden\u2019s .9 Trillion Covid Relief Bill That Discriminated Against Restaurant Owners\">appellate court ruled<\/a> in the meantime that Trump would not have to secure the full bond amount, but rather a $175 million bond, while his appeal remains pending. Monday\u2019s hearing in that case will focus on the bond Trump posted.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was also banned from most business activity in New York as a result of the judgement, and he noted that he could not therefore seek a bond from a New York-based company and instead used a company in California. Knight Special Insurance, a Delaware-based company, authorized the bond, but the company is a subsidiary of Hankey\u2019s company in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[New York has] got to be the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brittney-griners-prolonged-detention-isnt-racism-but-the-limits-of-american-diplomacy\/\" title=\"Brittney Griner\u2019s Prolonged Detention Isn\u2019t Racism, But The Limits Of American Diplomacy\">unfriendly place<\/a> to do business, and that\u2019s why businesses are leaving and people are leaving as migrants come in and take over our parks and our schools and everything else,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Trump called James, who has asked Engoron to reject Trump\u2019s bond, the \u201cworst attorney general in the country.\u201d Engoron will hear arguments Monday about why James believes the bond is not properly collateralized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want you know to that that\u2019s taking place in front of an extremely crazed judge who\u2019s the most overturned judge in New York state,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that he would not use Engoron\u2019s name, a comment that comes as Trump has faced repeated allegations that he has violated gag orders in both his civil and criminal cases in New York.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know who it is.
