More details can be found [here](https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/ 2024\/04\/19\/biden-oil-mining-alaska-restrictions-00153219).  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><figcaption> \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t(Getty Images)\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>The Biden administration on Friday dealt another blow to the U.S. oil industry by declaring millions of acres in Alaska off limits to new oil drilling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Department of the Interior announced on Friday that it will prohibit any new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democratic-rep-fundraises-off-upcoming-big-oil-hearing\/\" title=\"Democratic Rep Fundraises Off Upcoming \u2018Big Oil\u2019 Hearing\">oil drilling project<\/a> in the U.S. Arctic Ocean as well as on 11 million acres of Alaska\u2019s National Petroleum Reserve and nearly 3 million acres of Alaska\u2019s coastal waters, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/04\/19\/biden-oil-mining-alaska-restrictions-00153219\"><span>according<\/span><\/a><span>  to <\/span><i><span>Politico<\/span><\/i><span>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>President Joe Biden is &#8220;proud that [his] Administration is taking action to conserve more than 13 million acres in the Western Arctic and to honor the culture, history, and enduring wisdom of Alaska Natives who have lived on and stewarded these lands since time immemorial,&#8221; the White House <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/04\/19\/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-protecting-alaskas-arctic-lands-waters-and-wildlife\/\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>  in a statement on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dustin Meyer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-confirms-kathleen-hicks-as-deputy-defense-secretary\/\" title=\"Senate Confirms Kathleen Hicks as Deputy Defense Secretary\">senior vice president<\/a> of policy at the American Petroleum Institute, denounced the Biden administration\u2019s move as &#8220;yet another step in the wrong direction.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;This misguided rule from the Biden Administration sharply limits future oil and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/navajo-nation-slams-biden-oil-drilling-ban-says-white-house-violated-tribal-sovereignty\/\" title=\"Navajo Nation Slams Biden Oil Drilling Ban, Says White House Violated \u2018Tribal Sovereignty\u2019\">natural gas development<\/a> in Alaska\u2019s National Petroleum Reserve, a region explicitly intended by Congress to bolster America\u2019s energy security while generating important economic growth and revenue for local Alaskan communities,&#8221; Meyer told <\/span><i><span>Politico<\/span><\/i><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Sen. Dan Sullivan (R., Alaska) accused Biden of caving to &#8220;the far-left radicals he feels are key to his reelection&#8221; and letting America\u2019s geopolitical rivals get ahead. &#8220;The message this administration is sending to the dictators in Iran, China and Russia is this: We won\u2019t use our resources to strengthen our country\u2014but you can use your resources to strengthen your country,&#8221; Sullivan said at a Thursday press conference.<\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>Friday\u2019s crackdown on the oil industry came after the Biden administration last week finalized regulations that would <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/biden-admin-finalizes-regulations-hiking-cost-of-oil-drilling\/\"><span>hike<\/span><\/a><span>  the cost of oil and gas drilling on public lands.
