Jury selection continues until alternates are seated, intensifying with limited strikes remaining for both defense and prosecution.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The third day of former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s hush money trial concluded with the seating of 12 jurors and one alternate, leaving five alternate spots left to fill.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of the day on Thursday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trial-12-new-york-jurors-seated-in-hush-money-case\/\" title=\"Trump trial: Twelve jurors selected in New York hush money case\">full dozen jurors needed<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York<\/a> criminal trial were sworn in, though two others who were initially sworn were dismissed earlier in the day. (AP Photo\/Seth Wenig)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With both the defense and prosecution now left with only a few remaining strikes each, the selection process intensifies as the search for the five remaining alternates continues.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the courtroom, Trump carried a stack of newspaper editorials and articles that he said took aim at the strength of the case against him, saying \u201cit really is a very unfair trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of these stories are stories of how \u2014 and these are done by the experts and editorials \u2014 Bragg falsified business records \u2026 he falsifies them, he\u2019s the one, he\u2019s the fraud,\u201d Trump said, taking aim at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg\u2019s 34-count indictment against him.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Former President Donald Trump holds up news clippings as he speaks following his trial at Manhattan criminal court in New York on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Clary\/Pool Photo via AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Here are details about the 12 jurors seated for the trial as of Thursday evening:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 1, foreperson: <\/strong>A man who lives in West Harlem but is originally from Ireland, is married to a spouse currently in school, and has no children. He reads news from the <em>New York Times<\/em>, the <em>Daily Mail<\/em>, and some Fox News and MSNBC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 2: <\/strong>Is an investment banker who has a wife and no kids. He follows Trump\u2019s TruthSocial posts and Michael Cohen on X\/Twitter. He said he\u2019s followed Trump since he became president mostly \u201cbecause it was a news item when he would put a tweet out so good to be aware of that.\u201d He has also read Trump\u2019s book, <em>Art of The Deal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 3:<\/strong> An Asian man who appeared to be in his early 30s. He is originally from Oregon and works as a corporate lawyer. He reads news from the <em>New York Times<\/em>, the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, and Google.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 4:<\/strong> A man with a high school diploma who is married and has three kids. He works as a security engineer and doesn\u2019t have social media. He said he reads a \u201csmattering\u201d of the news organizations named in the jury questionnaire, according to pool reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 5:<\/strong> A young black woman who said she has friends with strong opinions about Trump but also said she is not a political person. She said she appreciates the fact that Trump \u201cspeaks his mind and I\u2019d rather that than someone who\u2019s in office who you don\u2019t know what they\u2019re thinking.\u201d Notably, she said she wasn\u2019t aware Trump was being criminally charged until she was called for jury selection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 6:<\/strong> A woman who has been a Chelsea resident for a little over a year and a half and works as a software engineer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 7: <\/strong>A man who is a civil litigator, is married with two children, and lives on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. He reads the <em>New York Times<\/em>, the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, the <em>New York Post<\/em>, and the <em>Washington Post<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 8:<\/strong> A man who is a retired health manager and is married with two kids. He has more interest in his own hobbies such as fly fishing than in keeping up with the news, but said he hears things from people he knows about Trump.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 9:<\/strong> An unmarried woman who is a speech therapist with a master\u2019s degree. When asked by Trump\u2019s attorney if she would ever feel pressured by others, she said, \u201cNot at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 10:<\/strong> A man who is a lover of the outdoors who works for a retailer. He enjoys listening to podcasts on behavior psychology. He is from Ohio, single, and lives with another adult roommate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 11: <\/strong>A woman who said she did not like Trump\u2019s \u201cpersona,\u201d which prompted Trump to seek to remove her from the selection process. Merchan denied to remove her for cause. She works for a multinational company, is not originally from New York, and is not married and doesn\u2019t have kids. She said she does not follow the news but occasionally reads headlines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juror 12:<\/strong> A woman who has a doctorate degree and reads the <em>New York Times<\/em>, <em>USA Today, <\/em>and CNN. She works as a physical therapist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alternate 1:<\/strong> The first empaneled alternate juror is a woman who grew up in England and currently lives with her boyfriend. She is an analyst and reads the <em>Wall Street Journal <\/em>and the <em>New York Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s possible that more seated jurors could still drop out at this point, given that earlier in the day, one was dismissed over her concerns about being impartial and another was dismissed over questions about his credibility.
