US Treasury Department targeted individuals \u200band\u2063 companies aiding Iran&#8217;s UAV production, including those supporting \u2063Tehran&#8217;s steel and \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-developments-in-fani-willis-probe\/\" title=\"Latest Updates on Fani Willis Investigation\">automotive\u2064 sectors<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The United States on Thursday announced new<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>on<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran <\/span>targeting its unarmed aerial vehicle production after its attack on Israel, and President Joe Biden said G7 leaders were committed to acting together to increase economic pressure on Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said the United States and its allies had helped Israel beat back the April 13 missile and drone strike and were now holding<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran <\/span>accountable with the new<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>and export controls.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>target leaders and entities connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s Defense Ministry, and the<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>ian government\u2019s missile and drone program that enabled this brazen assault,&#8221; Biden said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And our allies and partners have or will issue additional<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>and measures to restrict<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s destabilizing military programs,&#8221; Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>A U.S. Treasury Department statement said the U.S. measures targeted 16 individuals and two entities enabling<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s UAV production, including engine types that power<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s Shahed variant UAVs, which were used in the April 13 attack.<\/p>\n<p>Treasury said it was also designating five companies in multiple jurisdictions providing component materials for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/thanksgiving-just-got-more-expensive\/\" title=\"Thanksgiving Just Got More Expensive\">steel production<\/a> to<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s Khuzestan Steel Company (KSC), one of<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s largest steel producers, or purchasing KSC\u2019s finished steel products.<\/p>\n<p>Also targeted were three subsidiaries of<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>ian automaker Bahman Group, which it said had materially supported<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>&#8216;s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the U.S. Commerce Department was also imposing new controls to restrict<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s access to technologies, such as basic commercial grade microelectronics.<\/p>\n<p>Tehran says it carried out the April 13 attack in retaliation for a presumed Israeli strike on the<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>ian consulate in Damascus which killed two generals and several others on April 1. Israel has said it will retaliate, while a senior<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>ian Revolutionary Guards commander said on Thursday<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran <\/span>could review its &#8220;nuclear doctrine&#8221; following Israeli threats<\/p>\n<p>Treasury said that concurrent with its action, Britain was imposing<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>targeting several<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>ian military organizations, individuals, and entities involved in<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s UAV and ballistic missile industries.<\/p>\n<p>Britain said these<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>included the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, according to an official notice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re using Treasury\u2019s economic tools to degrade and disrupt key aspects of<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>\u2019s malign activity, including its UAV program and the revenue the regime generates to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-insistence-by-democrat-politicians-and-medical-elites-empirical-evidence-does-not-conclusively-show-that-masks-reduce-the-spread-of-covid\/\" title=\"Despite Insistence by Democrat Politicians and Medical Elites, Empirical Evidence DOES NOT Conclusively Show that Masks Reduce the Spread of COVID\">support<\/a> its terrorism,&#8221; U.S. Treasury secretary Janet Yellen said in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will continue to deploy our<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>authority to counter<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran <\/span>with further actions in the days and weeks ahead.&#8221;\t<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. statement came after finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Seven industrial democracies said after a meeting in Wednesday they would &#8220;ensure close coordination of any future measure to diminish<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran<\/span>&#8216;s ability to acquire, produce, or transfer weapons to support destabilizing regional activities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>European Union leaders also decided on Wednesday to step up<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> sanctions <\/span>against<span data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\"> Iran <\/span>after Tehran&#8217;s attack on Israel raised concerns about a wider conflict in the Middle East<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, the US revealed fresh sanctions on Iran related to its drone production post-Israel attack.
