Residents in parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/nevada\/\" title>Nevada<\/a> were unable to call 911 from cell phones and landline phones, starting around 7 p.m. local time, according to reports. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>URGENT: Southern Nevada \u2013 there is a 911 outage impacting your ability to contact Emergency Services in Southern Nevada right now.<\/p>\n<p>To contact the Nevada Highway Patrol Dispatch, call *NHP or 775 687 0400 or 702-432-5393. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/upxOogdKf8\">https:\/\/t.co\/upxOogdKf8<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 Nevada State Police (@NVStatePolice) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NVStatePolice\/status\/1780803753555472841?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 18, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cURGENT: Southern Nevada \u2013 there is a 911 outage impacting your ability to contact Emergency Services in Southern Nevada right now,\u201d read a post from the Nevada State Police account on X, formerly Twitter. <\/p>\n<p>The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also took to X to bring awareness to the 911 outage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a 911 outage impacting your ability to make calls,\u201d the Las Vegas FireRescue account on X posted.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Outages for 911 emergency services also were announced in several other states around the country including cities in Texas, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Residents of those areas were unable to use cell phones or landline phones to call 911. Some areas reported the ability to contact 911 through text messages during the outage.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nevada and South Dakota were able to restore 911 services a couple hours after the outage started, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-passes-enormous-china-competitiveness-bill-but-it-faces-huge-roadblocks-in-the-senate\/\" title=\"House Passes Enormous China Competitiveness Bill, But It Faces Huge Roadblocks In The Senate\">multiple sources reported<\/a>. Several law enforcement agencies in cities in those states announced the restoration of emergency services on social media. <\/p>\n<p>The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that any individual who tried calling 911 during the outage have been called back and provided assistance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c9-1-1 phone service has been restored,\u201d the LVMPD wrote in a post. \u201cAll of the individuals who called during the outage have been called back and provided assistance. Non-emergency calls are also working.
