Now it\u2019s one of the foundational elements,\u201d Rick Cordella, president of NBC Sports, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/nbc-2024-paris-olympics-strategy-snoop-dogg-celebrities-peacock-live-streaming-1235972692\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said \">said<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ve got to be innovating, trying things differently, trying to match where the media world is in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>This Olympics will break with previous games in having events streamed live on Peacock. Broadcasts of the past aired popular events on tape delay. The change to live streaming will require having different prime-time programming.<\/p>\n<p>The games will start around 3 a.m. and end around 6 p.m. Eastern time. Paris is six hours ahead of Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>NBC plans to use celebrities Kelly Clarkson, Peyton Manning, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jimmy-fallon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Jimmy Fallon\">Jimmy Fallon<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/snoop-dogg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Snoop Dogg\">Snoop Dogg<\/a> for various hosting assignments. Snoop Dogg will provide man-on-the-street interviews, while Clarkson and Manning will host the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/torch-relay-begins-for-2020-summer-olympics\/\" title=\"Torch relay begins for 2020 Summer Olympics\">opening ceremony<\/a> on July 26. Fallon will host the closing ceremony alongside Mike Tirico, NFL play-by-play announcer on NBC\u2019s <em>Sunday Night Football.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>NBC is aiming for more than 20% of Olympics viewership to come from the Peacock stream\u00ading platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether they\u2019re watching linear or digital, we don\u2019t really care,\u201d Dan Lovinger, the NBC ad sales executive, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/nbc-2024-paris-olympics-strategy-snoop-dogg-celebrities-peacock-live-streaming-1235972692\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> to <em>Variety<\/em>. \u201cWe mon\u00adetize all platforms. I\u2019m very confident that this will be the most supported Olympic Games of all time \u2014 in dollars. That\u2019s what we count.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the broadcast, the games have been dealing with their own organizational concerns in getting the event prepared in Paris. The Summer Games are aiming to cut emissions by being the \u201cgreenest\u201d ever competition.
