This disconnect was emphasized in a\u2062 segment on Fox News.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner\u2019s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/author\/salena-zito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Salena Zito<\/a> said President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> has not done a good job connecting with voters, specifically on the cost of living.<\/p>\n<p>Zito, a columnist for the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>, acknowledged the United States is seeing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/finance-and-economy\/2953464\/economy-added-303000-jobs-in-march-more-than-expected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>a growing number of jobs<\/a> created under the Biden administration, an accomplishment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/2954982\/biden-jobs-report-milestone-americas-comeback\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Biden has touted while on the campaign trail<\/a>. However, Zito contended that voters are feeling \u201ca lot of pain\u201d from the rising cost of various items, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gas-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>gas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/food\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>groceries<\/a>, and insurance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of those things that are basic to a person\u2019s daily life is \u2026 becoming unattainable. People are doing what I call \u2018the switch-out\u2019 \u2014 when they go food shopping, they put something in the cart they always buy, and then, maybe three aisles later, decide, \u2018I can\u2019t afford that, and this something\u2019s got to go,\u2019\u201d Zito said on Fox News\u2019s <em>America\u2019s Newsroom<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s visits to various <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Pennsylvania<\/a> cities this week were also discussed, and she argued the president is visiting \u201csafe places\u201d where he is guaranteed to win. She added that while areas such as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh have a high population, it will be other counties such as Erie and Northampton that will determine who wins Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania is one of several swing states that many look at to see who could win the presidential election, and it is worth 20 points in the Electoral College. The former president also led Biden when respondents were asked who would do a better job on border security and mental fitness to serve as president, though Biden led Trump regarding abortion access.<\/p>\n<p>This data also found Trump is leading Biden in six out of seven swing states, one of which is Pennsylvania.
