Warren Davidson (R-OH) and privacy advocates.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/biden-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Biden administration\">Biden administration<\/a> has announced its opposition to the \u201cFourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act\u201d ahead of Wednesday\u2019s vote on the bill.<\/p>\n<p>The House is scheduled to have a stand-alone vote on Wednesday evening on the act, which began as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2964090\/house-passes-fisa-renewal-capping-months-of-gop-infighting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"amendment\">amendment<\/a> to a previous bill reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Sponsor Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) and other privacy hawks are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2960357\/davidson-fisa-provision-vote-congressman-speaker-broken-promises\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"pushing the measure\">pushing the measure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The Act] generally would prohibit the intelligence community and law enforcement from obtaining certain commercially available information \u2014\u00a0subject only to narrow, unworkable exceptions,\u201d a statement of administration policy opposing Davidson\u2019s bill reads. \u201cIt does not affect the ability of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnn-finally-discovers-china-uses-u-s-media-to-attack-the-united-states\/\" title=\"CNN Finally Discovers China Uses U.S. Media To Attack The United States\">foreign adversaries<\/a> or the private sector to obtain and use the same information, thus negating any privacy benefit to U.S. persons while threatening America\u2019s national security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The House passed FISA reauthorization after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2964090\/house-passes-fisa-renewal-capping-months-of-gop-infighting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"months of GOP infighting\">months of GOP infighting<\/a>, and the Senate could pass it as well, sending the bill to President Joe Biden\u2019s desk ahead of its Friday expiration.<\/p>\n<p>Davidson\u2019s bill would force federal agencies to obtain a court order to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-fisa-bill-tanked-by-hardliners-in-latest-blow-to-speaker-johnsons-leadership\/\" title=\"Conservatives derail House FISA bill, adding to challenges for Speaker Johnson\">purchase commercially owned data<\/a> of U.S. citizens, such as their online activity and location information.
