However, a coalition of media organizations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/04\/16\/menendez-defense-point-wife-00152643\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>advocated for its release<\/a>, which was signed off on Tuesday by federal Judge Sidney Stein.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, the documents asserted that the senator is an \u201cAmerican patriot\u201d targeted by an out-of-control justice system. It maintains that the allegations against him are baseless and a \u201cdistortion of the truth.\u201d Nadine Menendez also faces charges in the bribery case.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to the senator\u2019s office for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The couple was indicted last year on charges revolving around an alleged corrupt relationship with three New Jersey businessmen and the Egyptian government.
