Josh Hawley (R-MO) on Tuesday called on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Energy Secretary<\/a> Jennifer Granholm to resign after the two squared off in a contentious Senate hearing about Granholm\u2019s previous failure to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/biden-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>disclose her ownership<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/markets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"stocks\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/british-pm-sold-out-fish-in-brexit-trade-deal-fishermen-say\/\" title=\"British PM sold out fish in Brexit trade deal, fishermen say\">stocks<\/a><\/a> in six U.S. companies.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fla-officials-say-60-minutes-spinning-false-narrative-program\/\" title=\"Fla. officials say \u201c60 Minutes\u201d spinning false narrative program\">tense back-<\/a>and-forth occurred during Granholm\u2019s appearance on Tuesday before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee as it convened to review the Energy Department\u2019s 2025 budget request. <\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, Hawley took Granholm to task for her remarks in April 2023, when she had mistakenly asserted that she did not own any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wallstreetbets-keith-gill-testifies-over-gamestop-saga-what-i-did-no-different-than-discussing-stock-at-a-bar\/\" title=\"WallStreetBets\u2019 Keith Gill Testifies Over GameStop Saga: What I Did No Different Than Discussing Stock At A Bar\">individual stocks<\/a>. Granholm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/1515998\/hawley-demands-investigation-into-biden-official-who-misled-congress-about-stock-ownership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>subsequently corrected herself<\/a> in June, noting in a letter to the committee that she had, in fact, maintained shares in six unnamed companies at the time of her testimony. Her husband also owned $2,457.89 worth of shares in Ford Motor Company at the time of her April testimony. <\/p>\n<p>Granholm said last June that she divested from the companies on May 18, days after learning that she did own the shares, and said she had believed her family had sold their shares in 2021. <\/p>\n<p>During Tuesday\u2019s hearing, Hawley accused Granholm of violating the STOCK Act and for her ownership of individual companies through last May. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is outrageous that you misled us. It is outrageous that you are continuing to mislead us,\u201d Hawley said Tuesday. \u201cThis has got to change. And, frankly, you should go.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Granholm&#8217;s record is a disaster. She oversees Energy Department officials trading stocks. She lied about her own stock ownership.
