Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) over why she falsely testified last year about her stock-trading activities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hawley asked Granholm during a Tuesday congressional hearing why she incorrectly said she did not own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wallstreetbets-keith-gill-testifies-over-gamestop-saga-what-i-did-no-different-than-discussing-stock-at-a-bar\/\" title=\"WallStreetBets\u2019 Keith Gill Testifies Over GameStop Saga: What I Did No Different Than Discussing Stock At A Bar\">individual stocks<\/a> when she testified in front of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee in April 2023. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;You did own multiple individual stocks and you neglected to report it to this committee for months afterward,&#8221; Hawley said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;I believed I had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/400-years-later-i-made-new-discoveries-about-the-first-thanksgiving\/\" title=\"400 Years Later, I Made New Discoveries About The First Thanksgiving\">sold<\/a> all individual stocks, and I was incorrect,&#8221; Granholm said. &#8220;So you just don\u2019t know your portfolio?&#8221; Hawley asked, to which Granholm replied, &#8220;Pretty much.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Granholm then claimed she informed the committee as soon as she realized her testimony was false, at which point Hawley introduced a board with a timeline showing Granholm quietly sold her individual stocks and then waited nearly a month before writing to the committee. <\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>In the April 2023 hearing, Hawley <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/newstalkkzrg.com\/2023\/04\/21\/missouri-congressman-grills-department-of-energy-secretary\/\"><span>questioned<\/span><\/a><span>  Granholm about reports indicating that about one-third of her Energy Department\u2019s senior officials or their families owned stocks linked to the department\u2019s work. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Biden-appointed energy secretary has come under scrutiny for investing in stocks of companies that benefited from the Biden administration\u2019s climate policies.
