He highlighted challenges in identifying jurors with biases against Trump, citing an example\u200b of a prospective juror who expressed strong \u2064negative feelings towards the former president.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Former Trump defense attorney Bill Brennan said on Monday that he is worried about politically motivated people getting on the jury in former President Donald Trump\u2019s Manhattan criminal trial.<\/p>\n<p>Brennan made the remarks while speaking to Jake Tapper on CNN about what Trump\u2019s legal team needs to do to ensure that the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/curl-president-harris-goes-to-europe-biden-takes-a-powder\/\" title=\"CURL: President Harris Goes To Europe, Biden Takes A Powder\">president receives<\/a> a fair trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I\u2019ll tell ya Jake, when we were doing it, and Judge Merchan is a very serious man, he\u2019s very smart,\u201d Brennan said. \u201cHe\u2019s extremely courteous. I mean, I\u2019m not getting into people\u2019s biases or prejudice, I\u2019m not qualified to do that. I can tell you having spent several weeks with the man, he\u2019s a gentleman and he gave us as much time as we needed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then gave an example that highlighted the enormous difficulty that Trump\u2019s team will have as they try to weed those with prejudices against Trump from becoming jurors.<\/p>\n<p>Brennan said: \u201cWe had a lady come up as a prospective juror. I\u2019ve been picking juries for about 35 years. She looked good to me, a lady in her mid-40s of Irish extraction. She spoke with a brogue, she worked in an Irish pub, and in our questionnaire, questions 29 and 30 said, \u201cDo you have any former \u2014 do you have any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reality-tv-can-serve-a-purpose-but-last-week-it-failed\/\" title=\"Reality TV Can Serve A Purpose, But Last Week, It Failed\">strong feelings<\/a> about the former president and if so, would they affect your ability to be fair?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd she checked them. So I said, \u2018Well, ma\u2019am, would they be positive or negative feelings?&#8217;\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd she says, \u2018Oh, I despise that man.\u2019 And I said, I guess it was late in the day, and I said, \u2018Oh, come on, don\u2019t sugarcoat things for me. Speak your mind.\u2019 She says, \u2018Oh, speak me mind? I hate him!&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brennan said that he was \u201cfloored\u201d by her comments and that Merchan did not immediately dismiss her from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chauvin-juror-jury-duty-a-chance-to-spark-some-change-something-we-got-to-do\/\" title=\"Chauvin Juror: Jury Duty A Chance To \u2018Spark Some Change,\u2019 Something \u2018We Got To Do\u2019\">jury selection process<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I looked over at Judge Merchan, expecting him to meet my gaze and dismiss her, and he said, \u2018Well, wait a minute,&#8217;\u201d he continued. \u201cHe\u2019s got his robe on and the pomp and circumstance of the courtroom.
