During an appearance on &#8220;Your World with Neil Cavuto,&#8221; Bedford highlighted the significance of this trial and how its outcome could influence voters in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elise-stefanik-claims-female-voters-see-through-bidens-abject-failure\/\" title=\"Elise Stefanik asserts women voters see past Biden's 'complete failure\">swing states leading<\/a> up to the\u2063 2024 elections.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner\u2019s <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/author\/sarah-bedford\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Sarah Bedford<\/a> suggested former President and current Republican presidential candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> hush money <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/daily-memo\/2966991\/a-striking-contrast-on-trump-trial-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>trial<\/a> in New York will likely have \u201cthe least impact\u201d of all the criminal trials he faces.<\/p>\n<p>While appearing on <em>Your World with Neil Cavuto,<\/em> Bedford noted that while the hush money trial is the \u201cweakest\u201d case against him, a conviction could sway voters in swing states ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024 presidential election<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are polls, Neil, that show that some voters who have said that they currently plan to vote for Donald Trump might change their vote if he\u2019s convicted of a felony. That\u2019s what\u2019s at stake in this case,\u201d Bedford said. \u201cAlvin Bragg, who is an elected Democrat, has structured the case so misdemeanor charges could be bumped up to felonies here. That could sway some voters on the margin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bedford noted recent polling showing Trump in a statistical tie with his Democratic opponent, President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLosing a few voters on the margin in those swing states could impact the election,\u201d she added. \u201cBut all that being said, this is the weakest case against him, it\u2019s the one that\u2019s arguably the most political, and it\u2019s the one that, I think, would have the least impact on him if he was convicted versus all of the other criminal trials where he\u2019s facing that possibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Monday marked the first day of the first-ever criminal trial of a former president, which included the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/2966993\/trump-trial-no-jurors-selected-on-day-one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>vetting of nearly a hundred prospective jurors<\/a>.
